Would Trump be equally guilty if his speech contained "falsifications"?
No, he is not violating a federal law. Plus, you would have to prove it.....Pelosi destroyed government property on TV. Lock her up. You LIKE her, Suzy? Creepy.

Why do you defend a con man?
Hillary is not a man, (at least i think he/she is not) and i for one do not defend her

I thought she was ripping up a copy of the National Enquirer ?? 😛
No no, MGM. she was destroying govt property, as did Hillary with the acid and hammers. THAT is agains the law. I predict that neither of these creatures will do time!!!!!!

Sorry, but the US Code IS Federal law.

And Trump lies every time he opens his mouth or tweets. No proof necessary. It's painfully obvious.

The con man is Trump. That you do not recognize it shows the depth of your TDS.

pelosi tore up an official document. The newspaper deal is strictly of your making, rather stupid to mention it.
I very much doubt Pelosi tore up an official document. I think she tore up a copy what may be an official document (if the text of Trump's speech meets this definition).

You are the one suggesting that every physical piece of paper that a person in public office possesses that has some vague connection to the Government and/or the legal system is protected by law. This is clearly not what the law is aimed at. If anyone is being stupid here, it is you.

I learned a long time ago, if one is not a lawyer, it's not wise to try to be one.

Maybe you should learn this too. 🙂

I learned a long time ago it is easier to debate when you use correct information. That way you dont have to make stupid posts trying to cover for being wrong.

You know (or should know now) perfectly well that the law you are quoting does not apply to what Pelosi did. Either way, you should stop pretending it does.

Let’s take a look at the actual statute here.

The law reads, in relevant part [emphasis added]:

Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

Pay attention to the italics and it’s easy enough to understand why Pelosi’s personal shredding gesture would not rise to the behavior prohibited by the statute—and why people like Higbie and Kirk intentionally omitted the language. That’s because the document itself is not covered by the statute at all.

Trump handed Pelosi a copy of the speech. He didn’t file this copy with any official—clerk or otherwise—whose job it is to make sure such documents are collected, recorded and physically and legally protected. The president gave Pelosi a copy of his address as a memento of sorts. This action wasn’t an official deposit. It was an act of theater.

The idea that tearing up a copy of a transcript of a speech is a crime punishable by 3 years imprisonment is too silly for words.

Then why do you still spend your day making "stupid posts trying to cover for being wrong"?
