I'm just thinking.... anyone remember the Watergate scandal? I think the Republican party planted a microphone in someone's office so they could listen in on their political opponents. The President was run out of office on a rail and forced into resignation as a result.
Maybe it's just me, but... this Benghazi thing that ended in 4 dead Americans? You know, the story that the President covered up and lied to the American people about for weeks? That one seems just a tad more important than a planted microphone. But for some reason no one is following the story. I guess times have changed and stuff like that is considered socially and culturally acceptable now.
Originally posted by KewpieAnd if it is just me that is concerned, like you suggest, then in fact it is culturally and socially acceptable for a country's leader to--willfully or through incompetence--be responsible for 4 citizens dying, and then cover it up and lie about it for weeks.
and maybe it's just you.
That being the case, then Richard Nixon was President 30 something years too early. He would have been reelected by a landslide today, if all he did wrong was have someone plant a silly microphone.
Originally posted by sumydidI was hoping for a bit more clarity on this issue after the election, but that's probably not going to happen. Petraeus should be subpoenaed as a civilian, to testify on what he knows, if that's what it takes.
By the way this truly isn't an indictment on a President.
My concern is with the media. Why are they turning a blind eye to this thing? What do they have to gain by avoiding the scandal.

GRANNY.
