@spruce112358 saidI said no such thing, why are you quoting me as such.
"Foreigners are poisoning the blood of our country." 😆
Not a new or original message. Goes back 1000's of years.
HUGE appeal to thick, uneducated bigots! 😆

@shavixmir saidOr... 😆
Well, I’m not very good at maths, but there seems to be some sort of a solution there, somewhere.
$89/month in Manhattan!

@divegeester saidDidn't say you did. "Illegal migrant" is a dog whistle. 😆
I said no such thing, why are you quoting me as such.
BTW, Trump actually did say it.
DJT: “They let — I think the real number is 15, 16 million people into our country. When they do that, we got a lot of work to do. They’re poisoning the blood of our country,”

@divegeester saidYes, together with educated Zoning of a municipality.
Perhaps the solutions to many seemingly complex situations are, in fact, simple.
Uncontrolled mass immigration is a class example.

@shavixmir saidThey should then get a passport. Am I missing something here. Just common sense, and no pretention that I know your local/stqte problems over there. We are busy enough here, we just dodged a hell of a bullet. Had she won, we would have tremendous problems.
Would it?
Have you thought it through?
How do these illegal immigrants cost that much money?
What are the illegal immigrants doing in the country? Nothing? Picking fruit and veggies? Help building houses?
Why are these illegal immigrants coming to England? And if you deport them all, what’s going to stop them and others returning?
What is the core of the problem? ...[text shortened]... ey said with Brexit.
Yet it is bloody clear to see that not much is going to be solved. Isn’t it?
Carry on, just curious about the passplrt

@diver removed their quoted postThe war torn ravages of Paris.
Uhuh.
And these refugees… are they French? No. So you can’t send them back to France then, can you?
Well, 9.7% of UK businesses are suffering a worker shortage. That’s roughly 1.2 million job vacancies. Probably not including agricultural jobs.
Now, say these immigrants you say cost so much, get out to work on these jobs, pay taxes, etc. how does that weigh into the equation?
See. This is the problem with populist simplicity. It sells well, but never works.
There are many more facets to take into consideration.
Like not solving anything (solving the cause of the problem, rather than sticking a plaster on the blister).
Maybe a less emotive example:
Floods! Bad for homes, bad for business.
Let’s build dams.
There you go. A simple, populist suggestion for you.
Now, ask yourself: how easy is it to build that dam?
Suddenly it’s not as simplistic as it seems.
Flora, fauna, tides, sewage, costs vs benefits, insurance companies, market forces, engineering difficulties, shipping, infrastructure, materials, etc. Ad infinitum.

@AverageJoe1 saidWho’s going to give that person a passport?

@shavixmir saidBut it’s not populist solutions which aren’t working, it’s the europhilic lefty nonsense which has gotten Europe into this mess.
Yes. Populism is popular.
And like before, when their solutions end up solving nothing, things will change again.
Parties with popular solutions will be voted in to sort it out.

@divegeester saidThey’re not solutions. They’re brain farts.

That’s what I’m telling you.
I’m not denying that populists appeal with their simplisitic (and in many cases nationalistic) views.

@shavixmir saidPassports exist for a reason. They wake up today and find out what the requirements are, depending on where they live. They fulfill the requirements. Yes, if they are part of the Mahi Tribe in N Africa, that is their home of choice or circumstance. They start on dayone to move their lives forward within the law. Hopefully they can save a few florins for a bus to South Africa which is floutishing, and get a menial job, begining their lives, work their way up, achieve a status allowing for a passport. They get one, and start maybe part 3 of their lives.
Well, I’m not very good at maths, but there seems to be some sort of a solution there, somewhere.
What else is possibly the solution? Carry a sign in a circle at Parliament?
