In a well-functioning democracy, the Democrats would have lost to non-morons.
In the field as it was, Hillary Clinton was the best candidate by an overwhelming margin which I can confidently say despite having little to no ideological affinity with the Democratic party.
But the elephant in the room is the giant US base in Qatar. That would throw all those calculations in chaos. That would be quite a balancing act for the US if push came to shove.
I would think a president thinking about the issue would be worried they would lose the base. I would. Of course we are dealing with a narcisstic sociopath with a short attention span who doesn't read books so anything could happen. I don't know the history of why they chose Qatar to put in a base, maybe BECAUSE they were weak? Paid the most bribes? It would seem if we were so buddy buddy with SA why we didn't get a base there instead. T was played and doesn't even know it.
