@averagejoe1 saidWell, let’s look at the science…
Just askin' for a friend. They want to know if we should suffer in the name of environmentalism, and this would be better discussed if we counted the increase in hurricanes over, say, the last hundred years.
The air in the upper atmosphere is… cold.
Yes.
Now what causes rain?
Right. So, when more water evaporates and hits the colder top layer… you get… more rain…
Right.
Now what causes wind?
The difference between…
Uhuh. So, when the water and lower air warm up you get… more wind and more rain…
Exactly. There you go.
Now, you can answer your own question.

@averagejoe1 saidMhmmm.. I have an electric stove and do fine French cooking, reduction sauces and venison to perfection.
Shav would have no problem with the confiscation of gas stoves and washing machines. I don't think he has an inkling about clean clothes, doesn't need 'em, and his mates sure wouldn't notice. And the basic cooking of socialists is not exactly gourmet which requires gas flame.
So, he's OK. But what about the Rest of us!??!
But… I can also do it on gas (we don’t have gas where we live), on the BBQ and on induction.
A good chef uses what’s at hand. Stop blaming the tools.
As for the clothes… yeah… you’re probably right there.
@averagejoe1 saidChina and India are not part of the Western Empire. The west does not control BRICS nations.
No question, a fact. But, who cares, their agenda rails on. Why don't they leave us alone? Why don't they bitch about China and India. They never do.
Hurricanes need 2 things to form. Warm water evaporating (which everybody knows) and condensation when it rises up to a colder upper atmosphere. The waters in the Atlantic where hurricanes form are always warm in the summer months yet there are not hurricanes popping up everywhere there is warm water evaporating. That is because there has to be a colder upper atmosphere to condense and fuel the cycle. That is why there were more hurricanes during the little ice age (not really an ice age) when the global climate was cooler. That made the upper atmosphere cooler during hurricane season providing the condensation that fuels the cycle.
A warmer global climate has less of the cooler upper atmosphere required for hurricanes to form. That is why there are less hurricanes. GW alarmists were fooled into thinking warmer water is all it takes for hurricanes to form. If that was the case the Atlantic would be plagued with constant hurricane bombardment without pause. That is how silly they are.
I will say this though. Hurricanes might drop more rain in a warmer climate. The flooding could kill more people when they do form and reach land.
