Today I was on the tram and the police stoped and took away 2 mixed race boys who matched the description of boys who had commited a crime.
Outside the tram one of the boys attempted to resist what the policeman was doing so was taken to the floor where he continued to struggle. The other boy tryed to run and was also taken down.
A black tenage girl with a buggy on the tram then said "see that proves the police are raceist".
I almost said something but thought no ferget it in her community petty crime is something normal and acceptable that most boys do.
On the subject Rodney King would not of got beaten up if he had never commited a crime in the first place.

In this case, one of you needs education. Either you need to learn what exactly she saw that made her believe this was a racist act, or she needs to learn the difference between racism and common justice.
If only one side is talking, nobody is learning.
Originally posted by Brother EdwinWhile the police officers may have been reasonably justified in taking the kid down for resisting arrest, we can't really fault the kid who was resisting. Police Officers have continually abused their power here in the US for decades now and it is no wonder that a poor black boy has a healthy fear of a person who historically would have taken away his rights just because he fits a description.

They may (or may not as I have seen numerous occasions) be trying now to be more racially sensitive, but they haven't in the past and many people still fear being arrested because of it.
You say they were questioning them because they fit the description of someone in the area that had just committed a crime..then they started resisting, etc., when being checked out and got taken away.
Their behaviour seems pretty suspect to me. Sounds like the police found the right pair to begin with.

I would been acused of raceism.

Over here you have to actually kill someone to have anything happen to you.

Originally posted by shavixmirOn March 3, 1991, King, on parole from prison on a robbery conviction, led police on a high speed pursuit, refusing to pull over in response to the red lights and sirens behind him. Finally, after driving through several red lights and boulevard stops, he pulled over in the Lake View Terrace district. The Los Angeles police were assisted by other law enforcement. King, who had a record of drunk driving and was believed to be under the influence of PCP by the officers on scene, resisted arrest even after being tasered, tackled, and struck with batons by four LAPD officers: Ofc. Laurence Powell, Ofc. Timothy Wind, Ofc. Theodore Briseno and Sgt. Stacey Koon (four whites) He is also alleged to have lunged for the weapon of one of the police officers on site, although that event, supposedly being early in the altercation, was not caught on the tape. In a later interview, King said that, being on parole, he feared apprehension and being returned to prison for parole violations.

I agree. Rodney was to blame. Scumbag.
The other day I was smoking with this dude from the neighborhood. I am half Mexican but I don't have that "Mexican look" - I look "white". The other dude was full Mexican. We got to talking about the police and were agreeing with each other that the LAPD is racist. I told him the story of when they got me for possession recently. He came back with a story of one time the police wanted to talk to him and his friends and they ran.
I dress conservatively. He dresses like a gangster. I'm respectful to the police, he treats them like an enemy. Then he decides the police are racist because I get treated different? I'm not so sure they are racist any more.
Well said, Bro Ed.
