@metal-brain saidSo rich mercantile types and before them rich landowners / warlords haven’t always been holding the reins of power then.
"Funny how there have been billionaires for centuries"
WRONG! Not even one century. You forgot about inflation.

Wealth disparity is definitely getting worse when looked at over the medium term but when viewed over the wider sweep of history, certainly in the west, things are moderately better.
Also if you live in a democracy us peasants only have ourselves to blame, listen to the bitching and griping from the peasants when some of their own class strike for better wealth distribution within their workplace, listen to the trumpian peasants tearing their hair out at the mere thought of a more socialist socioeconomic system 🤷🏻♂️
@kevcvs57 saidNot in the USA.

Even if there was a red tsunami Goldman sachs, Ukraine and Israel would still be winners as a result. Nothing would change much, certainly not foreign policy. Not even a little.
@no1marauder saidIt's starting to look more and more like The Democrats will hold the Senate even before the Georgia runoff.
Results are still trickling in from the Arizona and Nevada Senate races. In the former, Mark Kelly (D) seems to be expanding his lead which is up to about 95,000 but still with 30% of the vote to be counted.
In Nevada, Laxalt's (R) lead has shrunk a bit to about 18,000 with 20% of the vote left to be counted. Election officials in the State seemed to say most of the le ...[text shortened]... 6.
Looks almost certain the Republicans take the House albeit by a narrower margin than expected.
Kelly's lead is now up to 114,000 and even with something like 600,000 votes to be counted, Masters would need something close to 60% of those to rally and win.
Meanwhile, Laxalt's lead has shrunk dramatically; it's down to about 8,000 and all indications are that the remaining 14% or so of the vote remaining is from "blue" areas.
And Republican control of the House isn't assured either though it still seems most likely.
@no1marauder saidGoldman Sachs will do well no matter what happens. The plutocracy is secure.

I'm glad you reminded me.

He already did AND he is fluffing for Alex Jones because he knows poor old Al needs a billion or so
@sonhouse
Do you think losing the house is a victory too?
No red wave so that is a victory?
Not that anything will change. Now they can kill dem led bills in the house instead of having Manchin cross party lines to do it in the Senate. More convenient for the plutocracy instead of having you blame one of your own. Having Manchin do their bidding confuses your partisan bias too much. This way you can go back to blaming republicans instead of having to blame one of your own.
