We gave them the power. What should they do with it?
1) enact legislation to fight inflation?
2) pass immigration legislation that is more in line with US economic needs?
3) crime bill?
4) find ways to cut government spending?
I am willing to go on the record and say that none of those things will even be attempted by Republican leadership over the next two years. Just like 2017-18 they won't try. Despite all of their fancy theatrics, shipping migrants around the country, not a single one of them will write a single piece of legislation regarding immigration. Why? Because their voters don't want them to fix problems.
What will they do instead?
- investigate Hunter Biden. Someone needs to get to the bottom of whether his laptop runs Microsoft Vista or 365 and where did that coffee stain came. Mark it down for day 1.
- investigate the investigators of Jan 6. Then investigate the investigators of the second investigation. Someone needs to pay for all this investigatin'.
- maybe Hunter Biden again? Benghazi for the 40th time?
- Impeach Biden. That'll fix immigration.
@wildgrass saidInvestigating Hunter is purely to find out what our president has been up to. Our current president. I would consider that more important than our past president. Enough with January 6 .

They will not investigate the investigators, because this is a legitimate inquisition about Trump.
Impeach Biden? Of course, if he is found to be involved with the horribleness of Hunter and his cronies.
Wild grass, who the hell do you think was the big guy? That alone tells you he’s involved in it. So, are you saying that that is not important, and should not be looked into ? be honest.
Go full guns, Republicans. Do you not love it that Adam Schiff will not be on panels?
He will not be, because he is a proven liar. Look it up. Why do you Fellers never bring up the fact of the lying of the head guy Adam Schiff?
@wildgrass saidI think it's possible there might be some sort of "crime bill" tossing billions of dollars to States and local governments to hire more police to fight the imaginary "surge" in crime.

There was a significant increase in 2020 but the rates have stabilized over the last two years and:

@sonhouse saidTrump been attacked for 6 years. Disingenuous-osity gets you no cred on the threads. You are getting likeMarauder! Anyway, we are all in favor the Jan 6 deal. His IRS deal is of a personal nature, not affecting the USA as is Biden China/Russia collusion.
@AverageJoe1
So it is fine to attack Biden but TRUMP? ABOVE THE LAW YOU LOWLIFE DEMS.
Hope that helps. Remember, we are only using evidence provided by Hunter, we don’t care about Hunter.
Hey, who do think the Big Guy is?
@averagejoe1 saidIf there was any actual evidence of financial misconduct by Joe Biden, Republicans would investigate him not his son.

@no1marauder saidThe whole purpose of the Hunter investigation is to get an impeachment against Biden, which will be readily rejected by the Senate.

But now you will have 2 contenders for 2024 with am impeachment under their belt.
Just a shameless attempt to whitewash Trump's overall activity since 2016.
And yes ........ keep up the investigation of Jan 6th.
That was an attempt to overturn democracy !!
And the evidence is pointing to Trump.
@mghrn55 saidI still find it hard to believe that Biden will eventually run in 2024. Exit polls from this month's election show something like 2/3 don't want him to. He should take a cue from Pelosi (who's the same age now as he would be on Inauguration Day 2025):

"According to national exit polling, 67% of midterm voters don’t want Biden to run for president in 2024, compared to 30% who want him to run. The current numbers show that, unsurprisingly, 90% of self-identified Republicans who voted in the midterm don’t want to see Biden run again, but 38% of self-identified Democrats also don’t want to see him run again.
Those numbers are consistent with polling conducted in the run-up to this year’s election. In a Marquette Law School poll from September, 72% of Americans said they didn’t want Biden to run for reelection. Democrats in that poll were sharply divided on the question: 52% said he should run again while 48% said he shouldn’t."

@no1marauder saidReally? What makes you think that? Like, they know for a fact that Biden is tied up in son misdeeds graft and gifting, but you think they should limit their fact finding? He has been determined for a fact to be the big guy, which leads to his 'misdeeds', but you are the judge and tell the prosecutors that that is inadmissible, though properly unearthed? I have no words. Suzy told us you are a

lawyer?
Above, 'If there were any ev of financial misconduct.." OK, let us assume the Hunter case discloses that there is. Our side will be positioned at that point in its investigation, ONLY of Joe, to bring said evidence discovered into their Joe investigation. Would that work for you?
@no1marauder saidThere's been a dramatic uptick in murder over the last several years. FBI data shows that it rose nearly 30% from 2019 to 2020 — the largest single-year increase ever recorded in the U.S.

@averagejoe1 saidNo, they haven't come up with a single shred of evidence linking Joe to whatever Hunter was doing. The right wing propaganda machine that you so gullibly accept every word from is feeding you falsehoods.

It is true. Say after me, all the lap stop contents are true.
