There was enough smoke and valid reasons for FBI/cia to look into it. Of course mistakes were made and that is all documented in the three fracking prior reports we all had to read. Papadopoulos did not lie. He said he wasn't working for the Trump campaign and he wasn't. He was hired, but he had not started yet. All Mifsud told Papadopoulos was that he heard Russia had dirt on Hillary Clinton. That is all and it wasn't even true. Even if it was true it is irrelevant. Getting dirt on people is legal. That is why Hillary was able to hire Steele through Fusion GPS to get dirt on Trump. But it was not really dirt, it was lies. The Steele dossier was debunked. Brennan knew the dossier was not reliable info and used it anyway.
Getting dirt on political rivals is not illegal, but when you use a pack of lies to spy on somebody to get dirt on him it is illegal. You have to ask why Brennan wanted to spy on Carter Page so badly without any evidence to justify it. It must have been a fishing expedition to find dirt on Trump.
Remember when democrats were convinced that Trump trying to get dirt on Hillary Clinton was nefarious? Then you all found out Hillary did that to Trump and it was not nefarious anymore. So the Trump tower meeting was perfectly legal. It was opposition research. And since Hillary did it first, democrats now say the same thing. It was opposition research even though the Steele dossier was a pack of lies.
When did lies become opposition research? That is not looking for dirt, that is fabricating dirt. Fabricating dirt with lies is not opposition research.
