Privitisation, mainly.

Lowering of benefits, selling all "our" assets (like water, electricity, trains, busses, etc.) to people who'll make a quick buck out of it.

Moving more power to bosses, away from the workfloor.

anti-refugee laws resulting in children being kicked out on to the street (and this breaks various international laws).

Multi-nationals telling the governments what to do.

That sort of thing, basically.

One quarter market rate - the price set by a communist bureaucrat back in the days of the USSR. Those supporting the Ukraine are just a bunch of old commies or trying to stir up trouble.

Good for the Ukrainians if they can set a better market rate for a Russian navy base, Those countries wiith foreign troops based on their territory will watch this with interest. Perhaps starting with Cuba who gets $4000 a year rent for their best natural harbour - Guantanamo Bay.

Ukraine and Russia reach gas deal

Russia and Ukraine have settled a row over gas prices which disrupted supplies to several European countries.
Under the five-year deal, Ukraine will buy Russian and Central Asian gas for $95 per 1,000 cubic metres on average.

Russia halted gas supplies to Ukraine on 1 January, after Kiev rejected a price rise that would have taken the cost of gas from $50 to $230.

The European Union said it would have to "learn the lessons" and find ways of improving security of energy supplies.

What is still in question is the $25,000,000 in gas that the Russians are accusing the Ukraine of siphoning of since the shutdown. I heard that anyone can siphon off a tanker truck full of gas in less than thirty minutes. All you need is an unguarded stretch of pipe, a drill, a tap and, of course, a tanker truck. In fact in California thieves had connected thier own pipe to a buried gas line and siphoned off gas for almost six months before the gas company realized that they had a consistent drop in pressure.
