Vladimir Putin on Thursday warned Kyiv that it should quickly accept Moscow’s terms or brace for the worst, adding ominously that Russia has barely started its action.

Speaking at a meeting with leaders of the Kremlin-controlled parliament, Putin accused Western allies of fueling the hostilities, charging that “the West wants to fight us until the last Ukrainian.”

“It’s a tragedy for the Ukrainian people, but it looks like it’s heading in that direction,” he added.

“Everybody should know that largely speaking, we haven’t even yet started anything in earnest,” Putin said in a menacing note.

He declared that Russia remains ready to sit down for talks to end the fighting, adding that “those who refuse to do so should know that the longer it lasts the more difficult it will be for them to make a deal with us.”

Looks like he’s ready to settle for the Donbas in the east and his land corridor in the south.
It will depend on the Ukrainian people and what other demands he has concerning Ukraine's sovereignty going forward.

"Putin revealed in June that one of his aims for the Ukraine war was expanding Russian territory. Speaking with students, he compared himself to Russia's first emperor, Peter the Great, and said they were both destined to grow Russia."

Ukraine will not be the last invasion.

To pretend to settle.

A peace treaty with Putin is worth as much as the promise of a black rhino not to charge.

I'd rather trust a cobra than either a rhino or a Putin. You can tame a cobra, at least to the point that you can trust it not to bite you if you don't threaten it. A rhino isn't intelligent enough for that; and Putin is too psychopathic for it.

Unless someone with as fragile an ego and as self delusional as Putin gets the White House NATO will never attack Russian soil. Oh 💩 we may only have a couple of years left.

No I’m sure it won’t be the last of Putin’s attempts to emulate his favourite emperor but ultimately it depends on the price he has to pay in blood and treasure for attacking Ukraine.
To free Ukraine and defend the rest of Putin’s neighbours we have to give the Ukrainians enough kit to meat grind Putin’s invasion force and pay dearly for every inch of their territory.
We should also be carrying logistical exercises to figure out how quickly we could arm Georgia and Moldova if he starts heading in that direction. He’s already got forces on their borders.

Putin is just being honest. Everything he said makes perfect sense.
His logic is flawless. He was easy on the separatist regions because they are mostly ethnic Russians and he had to minimize civilian deaths to keep their support. Not the case for the rest of Ukraine. He can afford to be more brutal since he will never get support from them anyway. Nothing to lose.

Are you betting on Putin not being brutal? Listen to yourself.

Wrong - Wrong and Wrong.

Putin is a former KGB Lt. Colonel who is desperately trying to recreate the old Soviet Union using an economy the size of Italy. It's not going to work. Yes, he has is a bunch of old Soviet era nukes, and a decent size conventional military force consisting of cold war relics and a sprinkling of modern equipment, but that's about all. Russia's economy is slowly decaying, his oligarchs are jumping ship, his own factories are refusing to repair damaged Russian war equipment, and most of the bright, young, tech savvy Russians have already left the country- hardly a recipe for success against the NATO economies pouring modern weaponry into Ukraine's war effort. Putin is in no position whatsoever to start dictating terms.

Russia can pay for the war with oil money.
You are spewing complete nonsense. The Ruble is at a 7 year high. They have hyper sonic missiles and the USA does not. Look up Satan 2 missile. It is very advanced and we have nothing like it.

Come back to reality.

Hahaha

“ He was easy on the separatist regions because they are mostly ethnic Russians and he had to minimize civilian deaths to keep their support. ”
Do you consider the use of banned cluster bombs on civilian areas going easy, do you consider the rape, torture and execution of civilians going easy, do you consider the complete destruction of towns and villages with artillery and bombing raids because he does not have the men or equipment to take them in once piece going easy.
Like Putin you are a delusional retarded halfwit who is trying to punch above his weight, he’s talking about peace now because of the price he paying to take the Donbas which according to pea sized brain is pro Moscow.
mchill is spot on, all Putin has is the nuclear arsenal he inherited from his uncle Joe, other than that all he has is idiots like you talking him up to be something he ain’t.
