....which declares "I'M A RAPIST" very loudly at random intervals.
Should be fun at dinner parties/conferences.

I notice no one is answering the question, rather just stating what they think should have happened to this guy instead of being released.

Well, the fact is, he has been released so what do you with him?

fyi, Canada does not administer the death penalty.
I thought I did answer the question. He should be left alone, because he has served his time and there is no law governing where he can live. He is now an equal, and should not be harassed.

The only lawful and, if you believe in order through law, the only correct way to address the situation is to change laws to make it not happen again in the future.

if he reoffends, the establishment will wring their hands publicly, shrug it off privately, and some poor townie will be the one paying for his crime, instead of him.

the townies should harass the criminal and their legislators as much as possible, until he moves and the legislators change the laws.

He needs to be visited by a contingent of men from the neighborhood and strongly urged to move somewhere else.

If he were in your neighborhood he'd apparently need a good gun to protect himself from the locals.

He'd have to move if he lived in my neighborhood.
A gun wouldn't help him, as a matter of fact, if he turned to guns the problem would be solved. As a covicted felon he'd be breaking the law if he were caught with a gun.
He's goin' back to jail where he belongs or he's moving out of my neighborhood and he doesn't have a lot of time to work it out.

About 2 weeks ago the local police came to my door passing out a flyer on a pedophile that's moved into the neighborhood.
Had his picture, address, car and all sorts of information on the flyer.
The next day I drove by his house to check it out. He was only 2 blocks away and across the street from the local elementary school.
He drew a crowd and never left the safety of his home. About 15 local mothers and fathers were marching in front of his house and had drawn the local TV station out to cover the story.
The "protests" kept up all week and the following Saturday night produced a small fire that settled the issue.
He decoded to move .. check your local regestry, he may be in your neighborhood now.
It was a little too hot for him here.

Why didn't you guys handle it legally? These guys aren't allowed to be across from elementary schools I don't think. Why resort to arson? What a sick group of people.

Ugh, he very could be in my neighborhood. God knows we have enough of them around these parts. If you type the zip code 98115 (Washington State) into the search function of that site I provided, you'll see just how bad it is here. It is probably similar in other metropolitan areas, but it was certainly sobering to find that there is a convicted child rapist living less than one half mile from me.

I know. There are a million of them in my neighborhood too. 😞

That's what folks here are trying to do, by getting the city council to designate certain mixed-zoned areas of our industrial district as sex-offender territory, and preventing them from living in other residential areas.

That's what I thought .. he couldn't be within a certain distance of a school, but. alas, he "served his time and paid his debt to society" and thus was free to live anywhere he wanted.
That's why the local police went door to door passing out those flyers. The cop was very diplomatic in his choice of words, but the message was clear .. the cops didn't want this guy around town either.
Personally, I think informing the locals of the situation will solve the problem in most cases. Most any father will get together will neighbors and come up with a solution to the problem.

Well, it's not something I have any personal investment in, since I don't have kids. Starting fires definitely seems to be an unreasonable way of dealing with this. Fires have this habit of spreading and a lot of kids die or have their lives ruined that way too...
