IF we are to argue so passionately over the sanctity of life is it then inconsistent to support war? Would being anti abortion mean that one would have to support non violence as a way of life and be totally opposed to any form of military intervention in the worlds problems?

Would this philosophy of protecting life then have to also extend to a ban on capital punishment and see the death penalty abolished?

That would be absurd as saying should pro choicers be for the war. If it's ok to kill a innocent out of a mothers belly shouldn't it be ok to kill innocents in other countries. Just being a little stupid here.

Those people who embrace non-violence as a way of life always seem to forget the armies who are protecting their peaceful way of life.

Your assertion is: For one to be "anti-abortion" then one must give up self defense.

The premise is ludicrous.

Of course they aren't all the same issue. But I am pro-choice, less against war than many others and pro-death penalty because I think there are rights/ agendas that are more important than just the over simplicistic view of we must save life.

No. Pro-lifers argue that abortion is murder. Most people acknowledge the distinction between killing in warfare and murder.

One can argue that that distinction should not be made, but then you'd need to say everyone in favor of laws against murder should be against war.

And the difference between the apparent absurdity and the current reality is???

I don't see a conflict there. I'm pro-choice, but also think capital punishment is acceptable for heinous crimes.
