@AverageJoe1 saidI agree
Yes, that goes without saying.
So we will hope that we will always be able to debate, as free speech is always in danger of being challenged. Thankyou for your post... It will make us all sit back an realize how lucky we are to have this medium. And if we were all of the same mindset,, as there might be in a perfect world, how boring things would be!!!!
I just get frustrated / annoyed / disappointed / saddened when people cannot have a discussion / debate without it getting personal and (often) abusive.
Everyone has their opinions / views and I totally respect that; I just wish everyone could discuss / debate in a civilised and polite manner and respond to another's views with the same.
Regards
@Martin saidAllow me, if you will , to dissect, for lack of a better word, one of their future posts. Out or respect for our only girl, I will set her posts aside.. Lets see what happens. Do not hesitate to make the first strike!!!

@Martin said"Structure" would utterly ruin this forum.
" Plus, it is all very entertaining."
Abusing people is NOT entertainment.
You obviously do not understand what 'debate' means
I quote
"Debate is a structured, formal discussion on a particular topic. It involves opposing sides presenting arguments to support their respective viewpoints, often in front of an audience or judges. The term also functions as a verb, meaning to argue, formally discuss, or carefully consider options."
@vivify saidThere are no debates anywhere. Only propaganda, indoctrination, slandering, insulting, etc.

Who's in favor of removing Debates like the sports forum was?
No debating goes on here, just nasty back and forth. No one gains any new perspective or learns anything, especially with some posters repeatedly posting the same debunked points ad nauseum.
This isn't even a debate forum, it's the Trump forum. All Trump, all day, no one cares about posting anything else.
@Martin saidEurope is not the reason England has deteriorated in the last 50 years. England did that all by themselves. Seven PMs in ten years--Europe has had nothing to do with that self-created dithering.
England should never have joined the EU in the first place.
Look how the Country has deteriorated since joining.
@Nanomaster saidYou say that like it's a bad thing.

@Nanomaster saidI was corrected with a rather salient example.
@Suzianne
"Europeans have more common sense and are basically immune to idiocy."
My God!
As can be demonstrated, I meant "compared to Americans".
@PuzZuLz saidYou hate the SPLC because it does what it was created to do -- keep tabs on anti-American republicans. The more we know about what they're doing, the better to counter them.
🤔
So you make up stuff about them. That's the only play you people have. Accusing without evidence. Maybe y'all should stop following Trump's behavior. He does the exact same thing. It's been his M.O. forever.
Like the Reflecting Pool. Not "Oh, I paid my buddies millions of dollars to do a crappy job", but "Vandals! It's vandals! Yeah, that's the ticket!"
@Martin saidWe all know who are the ones often employing demeaning or belittling forms of address here. Shall I name names? 'little feller.' And, yes, Shav is one of them, but he's toned it down considerably compared to three yrs ago.

@moonbus saidYes we do know who they are so go ahead and name names.

80 percent of the people name calling and spamming the same anti Trump threads and not actually debating are the left/Democrats/liberals.
Go ahead and name names.
A few posts here called it out but they didn't want to hurt their "friends" feelings by naming them.
Although I agree with @suzianne structure would ruin the forum, and I'll add, it would make it very boring indeed.
