Well I might as well start a thread for the state of the union address coming Tuesday the 25th.
So what will be said or should be said?
As for myself, I am kinda upset that Congress can longer sit on partisan sides. Now they must sit TOGETHER!! EEKKS!! This is because after the shootings in Arizona they were all told they needed to be more "civil" towards each other. (cough) So I guess what I will miss the most is all the drama with one cheering as the other side is glaring at them like a bunch of first graders and vice versa. Then you had those awkward moments where Congressmen did not know whether to stand and clap or stood too soon or not soon enough. Their lack of talent theatrically was a sight to behold!! Hilarious.
So for this VERY reason, I may not tune in......then again it might be worth my while to see if Obama tries to convince the American people once again that Obamacare will insure 30 more million people, without adversly effecting the quality of care, and for a lower cost to boot, just one more time without breaking a smile. 😛😵

The Democrats don't want the world to see how many seats they lost since last year. And the Republicans fell for it, apparently.
Wonder which Republicans should sit next to Steve Cohen (D-TN), what with the new civility and all ?

Originally posted by TheBloopAs a Democrat, I will say unequivocally that Cohen's remarks were completely irresponsible. With that said, his actions shouldn't undermine the spirit that other Congressmen (Republicans and Democrats) hope to exhibit. Furthermore, Democratic representatives are in the minority currently, and they will continue to be so after Obama's speech - if someone wanted to see the that fact he could turn to CSpan any other day of the year. I frankly don't remember thinking to myself during the last SotU address, "Oh, wow, look at how outnumbered the Republicans are!" Is it really impossible or inappropriate to set aside one day for the government to act like people who want to work together, instead of people who want to thwart each other childishly?

BOO HOO.

Originally posted by no1marauderSo you are actually defending this moron's statements that Republicans use Nazi tactics and the Tea Party is like the KKK?

Originally posted by spruce112358His comment that the claim that the modest health care reform is a "government takeover" is a lie is accurate. His statement that this lie has been repeated incessantly by the right wing is accurate. His comment that this tactic i.e. the Big Lie is similar to what Goebbels did is accurate.

So if telling the truth is inappropriate, his statements should be condemned.
Originally posted by no1marauderJust becuase Obamacare is mandatory in no way means they want an authoritarian socialist dictatorship....although it might be a swell idea to build a few more jails before its started. 😉
