I have seen miraculous turn-abouts occur in people I know in real life--people raised in extremist sects who managed to break out and become sane, devoutly religious homophobes who suddenly were able to accept that their own daughter was lesbian or queer and not a moral delinquent, etc.
But on an Internet forum such as RHP, one does not know to what extent the other participants are genuine or trolls. I see no profit in rebutting trolls. I quit responding some time ago to AverageJoe and MetalBrain. I think they are both trolls.
