Supreme Court Legalizes Trump Presidency

I stole the thread title from Bablylon Bee

Heh

But seriously:

On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration in a case that challenged the use of sweeping nationwide injunctions to block federal policy. The ruling significantly curtails the ability of lower courts to issue broad orders that halt executive actions across the country, reinforcing the constitutional limits of judicial power.

The case stemmed from multiple injunctions that had been issued to stop President Trump's executive order ending birthright citizenship—a policy announced on his first day back in office. Though the justices did not rule on the constitutionality of the order itself, they took aim at the overreach of lower courts in issuing expansive blocks on executive policy.

Writing for the majority, Justice Amy Coney Barrett emphasized that “[f]ederal courts do not exercise general oversight of the Executive Branch; they resolve cases and controversies consistent with the authority Congress has given them.” She added, “When a court concludes that the Executive Branch has acted unlawfully, the answer is not for the court to exceed its power, too.”

Yes. It would seem kind of worrying to all normal people.

But, you know, the slippery slide into autocracy is slippery. And slidy.

What’s happening in the US is so blatant, it’s being encouraged.
And that is what’s truly terrifying.

Many Americans support the autocratic/ dictatorship stance of trump.

There seems to be a complete lack of rationality or historic perspective.

In the meanwhile, matters of finance, eggs are not cheaper and when all the workers have been deported, everything will be more expensive.

In the meanwhile, there is no better plan for the healthcare system (other than trump saying something about Europe paying or something daft… it’s all about national agreements with the medicine peddlers).

In the meanwhile, US debt just keeps increasing.

In the meanwhile, governmental quality control has been destroyed.
And this is my thing. How is the US going to guarantee any form of water quality, road safety, fire brigade, etc. when every control on the matter has been sacked?

In 5 years time the US is going to reap the rewards of this. And believe me, nobody is going to be bloody happy.

Governments didn’t introduce these safety measures out of the good of their little hearts.
And tearing them apart is only going to serve as a notice that they should have been there in the first bloody place!

You're in no position to talk.
Doesn't the King of the Netherlands have some rather broad constitutional powers, which include the ability to fire the entire cabinet?

No. He does not.

The king of the Netherlands has a ceremonial role and is the major card to play in diplomatic relations.

Anything else?

There's nothing autocratic about abiding by an injunction from a district court Judge who is overstepping his authority while you appeal to the Supreme Court.

And the price for 18 eggs is down from $8.64 to $3.97 in my neck of the woods.

Yeah. Ha if someone wants to write about Nlands, then I would like to get deep into Romania!!!!
Jesus Doesn’t the Trump miracle gave you silly rabbits plenty to talk about and bash? Note that he just canceled the trade deal with Canada. Does anyone want to bet who will win that skirmish? Just to keep everyone on the right page, the entire reason for all of his success is one thing. It is not him… It is American exceptionalism.

Yeah, you do realise that American exceptionalism is marketing, don’t you?
Every country can claim the same.

As for the rest… you seem to be responding to your own demons, rather than to the post you are referring to.

I was paying $1.80 a dozen until your worthless to God false god took office. Still way over a 100% increase. Furthermore, everything else has gone up in price liar.

But hopefully our saving grace will be if and when dems own congress and senate again to pass laws that limit the powers of the POTUS.
Which would overcome the overreach of SCOTUS. Lower courts are SUPPOSED to oversea POTUS powers and Trump abused his powers EVERY DAY. That is part of their JOB. But now they got slapped down by a SCOTUS owned by Trump.

This one wants to limit the powers, the constitutional powers, of the President of the United States. So do all of the district judges. What a mire that you are all caught up in.
