Honor killing in Norway...father and two sons drown the daughter for not wearing a Hijab...If they do this to their own family, what would they do to us?

The New York Times yesterday denounced the Somali’s as being horrible people.
The New York Times. Maybe some of the tide is turning.
And notice how as the news goes on the word culture will start to show up a lot more. The word common sense has shown up a lot already. These are two words that I have pounded into this Forum for a long long time. AvJoe For President!

If common sense has become more prolific, why are you not embracing it?

All I say is common sense. Pick a topic you support (boys watching your daughter in bathroom, taxpayers paying tuitions for select neighbors, etc&hellip😉 and tell me it is common sense.

How do you rate your chances for President?

How bout one of your hero’s Mamdani? Yesterday he attended a Starbucks protest about wages. In the opinion here of president average Joe, I think he wants to run Starbucks out of New York. He told the rioters that the CEO makes $96 million. He obviously does this to enraged the rioters.
Something that people like you do not think about is that Starbucks can easily go with robots and FIRE all of those rioter out on the street.
I am on the side of firing. Hey, if those squealing rioters don’t like Starbucks and how they pay, they can quit. It’s been that way for hundreds of years. Are you and Mamdani gonna change the
The pitiful rioters appear to be biting the hand that feeds them. They have no common sense.. like you, you have no common sense

Hey, while I have a lib, can you tell us why you all speak of billionaires a lot. There are only 900 billionaires in this country of 350 million people.

Socialist ideas, borders on communism. My grandmother has 200 apartment units that she rents out, inherited them from her husband. Msmdani wants to tell her how much rent she can charge.
So, tell us that you do not think that a government should tell people how much rent to charge. Let’s see if you can say that.

Ps: a note that you are not USA. That does not change any factor about my post.

Landlords should be prevented from charging inflated rents.

What else do you want to know.

Very telling, you pro-government person, you.
Wow. 'Should be prevented'. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.
Creepy stuff. So, if the govt is allowed to do that,,,is that....uhhhhhh, is that about it? Will they stop 'preventing' stuff after that? And a sub-topic....could that result in bringing competition to a halt? Caitalism cannot exist without competition.

I've been a landlord myself. Always charged fair rent.

Don't know if you're aware of the housing situation in London, but buying is off the table for many (especially the young) and unscrupulous landlords have charged increasingly ridiculous rents, pricing people out of London.

I'm not on the side of government you numpty. I'm on on the side of the average Joe who should be able to afford somewhere to live.

One person renting his property to another is the same concept everywhere, be it USA or UK.
You said above the word 'inflated' rents, and then here you use the word 'fair'. These are irrelevant terms. Lord, who is going to define 'fair'. And I really don't know what you mean by inflated.....If my investment partners and I have a meeting and discuss the rent to charge, those 2 words, with all due respects since we are talking about a business, would be irrelevant in our business model, our business plan. It is a plan where we compete with other landlords. The renters get to enjoy looking for the best deal.
How could we POSSIBLY do business if the government was, in effect, controlling our business meeting????
You lost me. So, you do not agree that we can charge what the market will bear? We own these investments (to make as much money as we can) and you think the govt can tell us what our 'profit' should be? Would there then be a new term for the word investment, what would be our position?
Of course, the position of the renter with their nanny government overseeing the signing of the lease, will be in effect controliing the business..

It's becoming true here as well.

Most Gen Z's can't afford home ownership, and may not ever be able to.

Republicans talk a lot about "freedom", yet seem determined to take it away from as many as possible.

Rent control enabled many more people to live in NYC back when it was in effect.

You'd rather price young people with promising careers out of living in the city.

Do you want them to live out in Hackensack and take the train into the city every day for work?
