The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is a corrupt, biased and morally broken organisation.
I have been on record for years in this forum, criticising the BBC for its corrupt and biased news reporting during the Brexit referendum build up and calamitous post referendum years. I have also complained elsewhere about the way the BBC is funded; I.e. by mandatory TV licensing fees backed up by outsourced bully-boy debt collection agencies which lie and harass people on their doorsteps.
The Jimmy Savile scandal rocked the BBC, but what really changed?
As well as it being corrupt through the strata of leadership and management the metaphorical fish is rotten at the head, and always has been. Or at least has been for decades.
This morning we in the UK awake to a public statement by our future King, the son of Lady Diana Spenser, vilifying the corruption in the BBC; the fake evidences by Martin Bashir to obtain that devastating interview with Diana 25 years ago which he claims contributed to her decline in mental health and irreparable damage to his family.
The recently outgoing BBC Director General and Peer should be ashamed of himself. But it’s not just him, the problem is the deeply inherent unaccountability which has for decades undermined the BBC. Scandal after scandal and abuse of licence payer’s money.
The cosy black and white historic charm of 1950s nostalgia has long gone and it is now time to completely re-engineer the BBC and commercialise it’s revenue raising. I hope the UK government takes this opportunity to rid us of has become a broadcasting blight and national shame.
The post that was quoted here has been removedWhen has the BBC demonised China. I understand why the Tory boy doesn’t like them he’d rather we only had the Murdochs to not inform us about Boris’s latest scandal.
The reason you do not like them is the same gripe that divegeester has about them, they tell the truth to the best of their ability and they speak the truth to power.
@kevcvs57 saidLol, you either didn’t read my post or you haven’t seen this mornings headlines.

@divegeester saidYeah I read your fanatical right wing hatchet job of the BBC it’s hardly a new tune for you is it. As for the Diana thing I prefer stitching up aristocrats for a story than deleting the voicemails of dead raped schoolgirls and tapping more phones than the KGB and CIA combined, I’m referring to the right wings preferred broadcaster Rupert Murdoch, obviously.

I understand why a Tory would want our access to information placed solely in the hands of corrupt media moguls who can decide who should and who shouldn’t run the country and of course it always turns out to be right wing ex public schoolboy that they go for.
The truth has come out about the bashir fiasco but Murdock still has plenty of questions to answer regarding his Corps dealings with bent coppers and politicians. 🤞
@divegeester saidIn terms of worldwide credibility I think the BBC still stands head and shoulders above most.

@shavixmir saidI like the BBC, but it has been condemned for world issues as well, such as bias toward Israel.
I never read the BBC when it comes to domestic issues.
On world issues they can be very good.
A few years ago there was a massive protest in the streets of England protesting the BBC's bias toward Israel; so much so, employees needed police escort from the BBC headquarters to ensure their safety. The BBC was forced to hold a radio broadcast addressing the protests.
To be fair, bias likely exists in every major news outlet. I've read articles from Al Jazeera (a publication I respect) where their reporting were clearly biased in favor of the political issues where Qatar was involved, where Al Jazeera is based. However, it's not entirely the fault of the staff at Al Jazeera; their situation is similar to China, where the government controls the media.
Any news source must be weighed and compared to other news sources. No one source should be the considered the gold-standard of reporting.
@vivify saidI’m sure there isn’t a news agency or broadcaster on the planet that doesn’t have some bias just as those protestors were displaying an obvious bias toward Palestine / Hamas but they’ve never seriously underplayed the suffering of the people of Palestine at the hands of the IDF.

Passionate pro Palestinian demonstrators should not have editorial control over the BBC anymore than a right or left wing government should.
@vivify saidThe bbc is far from perfect, it is almost monocultural in its make up but I’ve never known it not to be lambasted for bias by the sitting governments of either stripe.
Agreed, government control of media is always a bad idea.
The problem for the Tories is that they’ve been in government so long and so often that they are taking it personally. Part of its remit should be as an opposing or balancing voice to any government with the kind of majority that the present one enjoys.
