An Australian tradition and social activity.
Now that a third of our voter population - including me - uses early voting to avoid the crowds, we're missing out on the party atmosphere. It was all efficient business at an early voting centre yesterday, not a police uniform or troublemaker in sight.

@Kewpie saidNice! Australians always seem to get it right.

@Kewpie saidYour party begins your day each day mocking Donald Trump. Human version of hyenas.
And we did it again today, a spectacularly stable election result, with victory speeches all about inclusivity and recognition and respect. Maybe it's the effect of the sausage ...
No matter how successful he is now and later, no one congratulates him on his good actions. But when he makes one mistakes, everyone laughs and points them out. You only focus on his smallest mistakes. Mistakes ae part of the journey. The only person who never makes mistakes is someone who does nothing, .
Keep it up Trump, mistakes can be expected, but, keep going. Drive that train.
@AverageJoe1 saidIf you throw enough balls at someone they are bound to catch, at least one kinda theory?🤔

@Kewpie saidKewpie. Hav you ever wondered, that not one of the people who post in this forum,, not one, has ever commented on the good things, the successful things? Have you noticed how no one will never comment on all of the good that Trump has done? not one. Not one , Kewpie. Can you tell us Americans why that is? Hate of Trump personally aside....Why?
A small thread about Australia, and two stupid Americans obsess about themselves. And one Canadian sightseer. And one American who actually participated in the thread.
His main campaign promise, the reason he was elected , which he has followed through on, 24/7...... He is ridding our country of people who crossed over our borders illegally, Kewpie. That is a good thing. No one has ever championed him for that. See this Headline:::
'Polls Show Strong Support for Trump Border, Deportation Policies
Nearly three-quarters of Democrats support criminal deportations, 60 percent favor border security''. Democrats,.. Kewpie. Republicans....much more.
Some here, all of whom hate him, will write back innocuous things, maybe what they don't like? Maybe about Melania or his golf. They don't like his playing golf. Witness Sonhouse's response, you will see. Abovr, One of them said this......

One of the teenagers on my son's softball team, speaking of balls, hit 3 homeruns to carry the team to victory. His neighbor does not like him and said exactly what this person posted. Like, yeah, so what? Or like what?
@AverageJoe1 saidWhy did you drag your Trump obsession into a thread about Australia? Answer me that, please.

@Kewpie saidI did not know it was a thread about Australia. Spilled my kitty cat milk, got sidetracked, sorry. You'd mentioned winning , and I thought it was about men racing women, and winning. Sonhouse swaps subjects though, so why cant I do it? And you'd mentioned inclusivity, I don't even know what that means. I really don't.

So, can you respond to my general post?
If that was inconvenient, you are scared of it, then can you tell us what you think about the man who won FIVE races in the Masters Womens Swimming? Do you think he should have been allowed to beat these mothers, these women who have been through menopause, etc?
Or you can tell us what you think about DEI over meritocracy? Do y'all put DEI over meritocracy? Do you want a doctor or aircraft controller to be hired on basis of race or sex, or on the basis of Merit?
You asked me 'why'?? Why will you not weigh in on these issues?
@AverageJoe1 saidNone of the things that you list in your post here are relevant to our lives in Australia. They've all been dealt with by our people and are not an issue for us. So I can't see any of them as relevant to this thread.

@Kewpie saidI have not seen where other countrymen have stated that you have dealt with the DEI/Meritocracy issue, nor the Men In Women's Sports issue.

What is the stance on thse issues in Australia?
@AverageJoe1 saidWe're not an unrestrained capitalist country, our democracy comes from people's votes and not from powerful money.

Sports associations have rules based on fairness and individual rights, developed over long periods, and they have clear guidelines based on scientific physiology and not who shouts the loudest or has the biggest wallet. Meritocracy rules, with some tinkering over the years, and only the intransigent minor parties disagree with what we've become. Half the population is female, we've had some periods of affirmative action where the status quo wasn't representative of what the community felt was appropriate. We've elected a female Prime Minister and our parliaments include all of the significant ethnic groups, religions and cultures. The major political party that just got soundly beaten is the one which still thinks men make better politicians than women, and perhaps it's significant that their leader was soundly beaten in his own electorate by a well-qualified female. One of our senior ministers has a same-sex spouse - that never gets discussed by the public press, even the gutter press, because that battle was settled years ago. Our newer public toilets are non-gendered all-access individual units with locks on doors.
Now do you understand why DEI and transgender sport are non-issues here? Our issues are environmental, historical, but not trivial snowflake stuff.
@Kewpie saidThank you, a very good post indeed. We can garner that Meritocracy rules in Australia. The minority in the USA wants DEI. I agree with you and with Australia.

I agree with all else that you write, I myself find nothing wrong with same sex marriage, an agreement between 2 people. I would be quite the hypocrite if I did not. Freedom. Your locking men out with door locks is of course how it should be. There are those on this forum who do not believe in locking men out. Why would you not query tham on that? Curious.
But to the question on this thread, this is the heart of my OP:
"" How can another person have to have the responsibility, for you to be able get the right? How can you take rights from the responsible person, to give to the other? This NOT Equal Protection Under The Law.""
Could maybe you open up a discussion on this,.. prior posts are all about judges, juries , Protection by Constitution of Rights, southerners, slavery, etc. Spruce says that citizens have obligations, etc, and of course that is correct when discussing taxes, etc. But he throws the word 'rights' around without acknowledging that rights are not, for example, free housing. No one has a right to that. Bernie says they do have rights to free housing. Let us zero in on that one.
And the idea that EQUAL protection means we are all equal does not gel, because if I have to be responsible for someone else's so-called rights, that is indeed not equal protection. I give so that they can get? Of course we all agree with welfare, etc for the poor, but Bernie says ALL AMERICANS. "It is a HUMAN Right!!"
