It's been almost 2 months since I posted here in the debates section, and what has come to pass recently had been so predictable, and so unnecessary.
Many auto workers, now fearful of losing their jobs due to Trump's tariffs - voted for him anyway
Many voters, appalled at the Trump administration's corruption, knew he was a convicted fraudster - and voted for him anyway.
Many Government workers, faced with losing their jobs due to Trump's policy of slashing the government workforce - voted for him anyway.
Many women, appalled at Trump's degradation of women and policies designed to slash their reproductive rights - voted for him anyway.
Many military members, fearful of losing their benefits and promotion opportunities due to Trump's aim of slashing the military budget - voted for him anyway.
Many businesses executives unhappy with the instability erupting in the financial markets due to Trump's tariff threats - voted for him anyway.
and the list goes on.
I don't agree with Trump's policies, but I also don't assign much blame to him for what he is doing. Most of the blame can be placed squarely on the voters who put him in the Whitehouse in the first place!

Americans seem determined to promote fascism instead of democracy.
This is about a population being conned by the right, into believing there are people in our country that they need to be afraid of, people they need to hold down to protect everyone else. In their narrative these people are always the "other", people "not like us". This is not only white supremacy raising its ugly head once again, but much of it is driven by transphobia as well. The reaction to this segment of our society is many times the actual number of them in our population. It's just more hate towards anyone "not like us", with "us" meaning white and straight.
Once again, we're being told that a) diversity is a danger to America, and b) Republicans are the only ones who can save us from it. Apparently, Americans are slow to learn from our past. Having too many politicians who personally benefit from this hoodwinking of America isn't helping.
