I will say that such a system is scarier in the hands of a corrupt court or even an inept one. For example, suppose "the powers that be" want to do away with certain people? I suppose it would be easier to do with such a system.

All criminals need to be sent to Australia. Is it not a penal colony? It was and should continue to be. In the U.S. we should open all of our jails, let the drug dealers, child molesters, rapists, robbers and murderers loose upon society. Legalize all drugs; we'll only lose a few million to the resulting overdoses and homicides. Guilty of theft? Lop off a hand. The average inmate is receiving better health care and meals than most of the poor here in the good ol USA. As a solution, we should give more bailout money to US banks, car companies and corporate executives. Have a good day all!
