the problem is why did they designate china to hold the olympic games? once they gave them the 2008, it as as if they accepted the situation in tibet and the Tienanmen incident(massacre).
on the other hand, china did make some progress(some) and what better way for comming together as humans than the olympic games.
either way you look at it, there are advantages and disadvantages for having beijing as host. but now all that matters is to remove all political bs from the games and focus on what is important. human beings competing.

Is it me the only person who finds it amusing that the only games a US president has been present for at the opening ceremony not on US soil, has been at this the 29th Olympiad, the Beijing Olympics. What does that say about the two cultures that an American President is comfortable being part of the crowd of???
