In the US the citizens are supposed to rule over the government. The US is supposed to be the land of the people who are free from government interference and domination.
In a Feudal system there isn't a chosen government. Also 'Big' Government doesn't rule over its citizens. At least not in Denmark.

How do you propose a modern society should be free from government influence*?
*There is no such thing as a free market (except in theory), and the market will never be in equilibrium.

A chosen government?

Do I get to choose who the elect? No!

When there is such a large population that your vote no longer counts, you do not get to choose.

Money chooses who runs. The super rich still pull the strings, it is all smoke and mirrors and those who choose to believe otherwise are fools serving in their lord's court.

If this is how you feel, you should leave the US and join a smaller country with less government. Or stop complaining on a chess forum and change things. And I don't mean with a gun or revolution. The superrich of the 2000s are mostly new to money. Most of the CEOs of the top 500 companies are new to money. Work your way to the top and change things. Of course, that might be a lot easier in Denmark with our 'Big' government' than your 'free' USA. Social mobility and all.
My government pretty much let me do what I want as long as I don't hurt other people. And while my taxes might be higher (%-wise) than yours, I know my future children will be safe in the streets and get a good education and have the opportunity to chose whatever life, they might want.

You are mistaken. The super rich of the 2000s are heirs.

The list regarding those who are the richest in America is like reading a democrat whose who list.

Just keep focusing on taxing income guys, that way the wealth that you have attained will not be matched, paving the way for your offspring to be our future slave masters.
I think you could blame Bill Clinton as much as anyone. He opened the trade doors with China wide open, but every president since has continued that policy so blame them all including Bush and Bush.

I blame outsourcing as the primary reason for the gap widening. Immigration would be my second choice. Wages and income are subject to the laws of supply and demand too. Unskilled labor is being shifted overseas causing unemployment to rise. More people (supply) looking for work lessens the demand for workers which causes wages to drop for unskilled workers. Less income means the poor are spending less money and that hurts the economy, but the upper class do better because of cheaper labor.

Immigration increases the supply of unskilled workers and skilled workers. After all, no country likes to turn away skilled workers immigrating and that increases competition for the skilled workers already here. Their income is reduced somewhat too, but to a lesser degree.

This hurts the lower class and the middle class here. The result is that everyone suffers except the upper class. The whole economy suffers in general because people generally have less to spend except for the upper class of course.

Blame all politicians that allow outsourcing and too much immigration to continue, not only Obama.

I should leave? I suppose that's what the Founding Fathers were told by their English overlords.

Why should I leave the US simply because I can see what is going on?

Yes, in America. The Koch brothers. Miley Cyrus, daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. Bristol Palin is on TV on Dancing with the Stars or whatever show it was because of who her Mom is. Paris Hilton. George Bush. Charlie Sheen.

Exactly.

It may need to come to that again.

Eladar's an American, not a Dane.

Well, not by nationality. He's part Nordic.

My point still stands. Its possible to change your own fortune in a country with a 'Big government, and the superrich in set country changes (without violence). Therefore it isn't government itself that keeps people serving as fools in their Lord's court.
