You mean that in a Feudal system the government doesn't rule over its citizens?

In the US the citizens are supposed to rule over the government. The US is supposed to be the land of the people who are free from government interference and domination.
But in reality we have allowed all people entrance to invade the USA with their religious and political ideologies that has resulted in the people voting for representatives to increase the power of government over the people.

You should read some American history. Especially the Maryland Toleration Act and the First Amendment.

I have been an American for 70 years and do not need to read any more American history, no matter how they revise it to include their ideologies.

So, of course, only you know the truth. I see.

Who are 'they' by the way?

EDIT: You must have experienced quite a few things in 70 years 'over there'. Which period would you say was the best (for you) and why?

I am one of many that know the truth. Obviously, "they" are all those that revise the truth to fit their ideologies.

Nevermind.

I think you could blame Bill Clinton as much as anyone. He opened the trade doors with China wide open, but every president since has continued that policy so blame them all including Bush and Bush.

I blame outsourcing as the primary reason for the gap widening. Immigration would be my second choice. Wages and income are subject to the laws of supply ...[text shortened]... ame all politicians that allow outsourcing and too much immigration to continue, not only Obama.
Let's say all US states close their borders to each other and prevent immigration and trade. Would the lower and middle classes benefit?

It wasn't the politicians who wanted outsourcing. You should blame the CEOs looking for a short term benefit so they could get their bonusses.

Corporations bribed the politicians to corrupt them. You can't vote for Corporations and their CEOs.

Who said anything about preventing all immigration and trade? I certainly never did. How about stopping illegal immigrants and put fair restrictions on trade?

Without any restrictions on trade we outsource to countries that produce cheaper products because they can pollute more than they can here and pay slave wages to their people.

You are promoting pollution and economic slavery and are too ignorant to realize it.

What do you suggest the government focus on in order to halt the widening of income gaps? Abortion?
How about more free market opportunity for all, including especially the lower skill workers. Motivate them instead of making excuses for them.

No.

I am for closing the southern borders of the U.S. to Mexico to prevent illegals from crossing over willy nilly.

How about a genuine proposal? Maybe Ron Paul's proposal to abolish the middle class by re-instituting the aristocracy will help the middle class?
I've continually given my proposal.

Have states amend the Constitution to limit the powers of the Federal government the way they originally were limited.

Stop allowing the uber rich to concentrate their wealth on a hand full of legislators in Washington DC so they can be used to dictate to the entire country. Give power back to the states as originally intended.

Can you explain how that would reduce income inequality?
