The science of propaganda

The left talks about right wing propaganda. The right talks about left wing propaganda. Both sides acknowledge propaganda, but only on the other side.

The thing that both sides have in common is that they don't think they are being influenced by propaganda. It is always those other people. After all, you are too smart to be duped by propaganda. That is what you think, right?

Both sides have the same solution for dealing with terrorism. Bomb them, right? Very little talk about why they are unhappy with the USA and other nations that bomb terrorists. No talk about how our policies create terrorism.

The first step to overcoming propaganda is realizing you were influenced by it. The thing about brainwashed people is they don't know they are brainwashed. If they did, it would not work. The only reason it works is because they don't know they were brainwashed.

Susceptibility to propaganda has nothing to do with intelligence. It is human nature to accept a repetitive message from several different sources, even if it is absurd.

The most intelligent realization a person can come to is that they are not too smart to be influenced by propaganda. Thinking you are too smart for that is just hubris. All it proves is that you are not as smart as you think you are. Smart people cannot overcome human nature no matter how much they want to. Wise people know that.

That happened with the SARS2 lab leak theory. People called me a conspiracy theorist for suggesting it came from a lab. Now several different sources agree with me. Facebook doesn't censor it like they did before Biden and Fauci said it was possible.

I’ve never called the lab origins theory a conspiracy theory in that sense and if it did escape from a lab then it still wouldn’t be a conspiracy it would be stupidity and incompetence.

All I know is there are several documented cases of it getting out of the labs.

Igor Nikulin implied that might have happened intentionally to use the world as their testing ground, but I have never made that claim. Hard to say.
