Thia letter was published in the 'Daily Telegraph' recently, and should be of interest, especially to those whose bigotry induces them to brand everyone a 'racist' who is not at all happy with the conduct of many of the muslim immigrant community resident in the UK.
"When Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, the new leader of the Muslim Council of Britain, says 'Britain should espouse many more Muslim values'(report June 10th), while advising his co-religionists to do the opposite, he is in fact proposing the evolution of parrallel societies which most immigrants, especially Hindus and Sikhs, do not want.
Some cultures are more conducive to economic development than others. Most of us chose to come to Britain because our own cultures and value systems failed us.
If Dr Bari were given the opportunity to pursue his career in Islamic Bangladesh, or any other Muslim country, he would probably think twice before coming to live in the 'decadent' West.
I do not therefore understand why Dr Bari and others like him, instead of imperceptibly integrating into the British mainstream, want to sustain and preserve a culture that failed them in the first place."

Comments please, especially from those Bitish residents who think that the muslms should be given special status here. Is Mr Bains a 'racist'?
Comments please, especially from those Bitish residents who think that the muslms should be given special status here. Is Mr Bains a 'racist'?[/b]Racism isnt a privilege of us westerners. My Indian Girlfriend sometimes makes racist statements and generaliations about other races (normally then leading to an arguement between us).
Mr Bains isnt being racist, he is just stating his point of view which, to be honest, seems quite sensible.

Oops silly me. No. They were not in the business back then of waiting to be given anything were they?
Does anyone get historical irony? Things coming full circle? Chickens coming home to roost? What goes round comes round? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?
Any of this ring any bells?
