@earl-of-trumps saidTrump has failed to provide any information on his assets and liabilities to the public so we don't actually know what he owns free and clear, what properties are heavily mortgaged, which have co-owners and which are owned by others but use the Trump name.
No, it's not how *I* know this, it's how *everyone* knows this.
Trump does not pay income tax on any o f his buildings owned, such as Mar-a-Lago,
his golf courses, Trump towers in New York, a new hotel in Washington DC, an entire suburb
in Miami, a hotel in Hawaii, Chicago, etc etc. You get the picture, right?
Or at least honest readers will.
Trump owns at l ...[text shortened]... tional holdings, too. All of the assets above are not subject
to "income tax".
The guy's loaded.
And all those properties are supposed to be income producing ones, yet the Donald is claiming huge yearly operating losses on virtually all of them.
That right wingers are gullible enough to ignore all this is typical.
@no1marauder saidSuzianne once said you are a lawyer. Then, how can you say we ignore the such -and-such about the man's tax returns?, You are passing judgement without all the evidence, are you not?

But the bigger picture, as a lawyer, is that we are witnessing, with NYT, flaunting the fact that the tax returns are seemingly the result of criminal leaking, and you say nothing about that. What is the deal. Are you being disingenuous ? Gullible?
@averagejoe1 saidI have no reason to believe the NYT obtained the records through a criminal leak; the most likely source is someone within the Trump Organization or one of his creditors and I know of no law that makes it a crime to provide such materials to the press.

If you want me to judge the facts here on all the evidence, then you should insist that Donald Trump publicly release his tax returns as every major party candidate has done for more than 50 years.
@no1marauder saidit is publicly accessible

@no1marauder saidit is a felony to access someones tax info without their permission.

@mott-the-hoople saidThat being said, the story will come out.
it is a felony to access someones tax info without their permission.
Somebody, probably in the IRS, leaked the information being fully aware of the consequences.
Understanding that he/she will run afoul of the law but maybe doing the right thing.
A Patriot, perhaps ?
@mghrn55 saidif you and marerider1 were to read the link I posted above you wouldnt appear so ignorant. The info is publicly available.
The bigger story here is not so much how much Trump paid in taxes.
But more who he owes all that money to ?
Is he, and his presidency, compromised to a foreign entity ?
Complete and total exoneration ???? 🤔
@mott-the-hoople saidThe document is clearly insufficient allowing wide ranges of estimates rather than precise evaluations. For example, according to the Form the Donald has 5 separate loans where he owes "more than $50 million" but there is no upper limit.

This just isn't good enough.
@mott-the-hoople saidShow me the statute that makes this a "criminal leak" as has been claimed.

@no1marauder saidDont know that law, would assume IRS records to br available to no person, no entity, without court order. Thus, criminal. My opinion.

There is probably nothing called a ‘criminal leak’
@no1marauder saidI never said anything about a “ criminal leak”, why do you bring it up?
Show me the statute that makes this a "criminal leak" as has been claimed.
@no1marauder saidour laws says it is.

@mott-the-hoople saidAnyway, please don’t be agitators. Why muddy up this great website by saying that anyone can go get the tax return of someone else. Have to get permission of the taxpayer, court order, whatever. Wasting your typing. Don’t you know there is a debate on?
our laws says it is.
Trump said a lot about this in his debate with HRC. He said he was taking advantage of a tax code the democrats condoned and never changed. This is something he admitted years ago!
Of course, the republicans are just as responsible for this, but that is Trump spin.
Both major parties have failed us. They are both just one unified corrupt party.
