Trump is the one who directs Republican congressman to pass or to kill legislation, although he does not hold any elected office. People, wake up! : an unelected demagogue who believes he is immune from prosecution tweeting from the bleachers is setting the agenda. This is not how the authors of the Constitution intended democracy to work.

@kevcvs57 saidYes, I agree. There cannot be any genuine doubt that no one, including an ex-president, enjoys perpetual immunity from prosecution. If that were so, then there was no reason for Ford to pardon Nixon. The SCOTUS would do well to refuse to hear the case, as it refused to overturn the 2020 election result.

As it turns out they ARE hearing the case which is a win for Trump in any event. Trump KNOWS he will lose that appeal for one thing because his pet judge Kavanaugh already wrote about that subject 20 years ago saying no POTUS is above the law but the whole point of the appeal is more delay, hoping the case will be delayed long enough to not be in trial before November at which point Trump thinks he wins, is POTUS again and squashes all the cases against him. THAT is the strategy, the ONLY strategy.
