That is how the Supreme Court is SUPPOSED to work, but because Trump installed people beholden to him (and, by extension, the sham Republican Party), they are biased ALL DAY LONG, as evidenced by this latest decision. Read the dissenting views. Sotomayor and Jackson are 100% right in their dissenting view and the warnings they deliver. Thomas and Alito have now become threats to our Constitutional government.
It's long past time for Biden to bump up the Supreme Court to 13 justices. Defending the Constitution (I know, as I have taken the same oath as Congress does) is a full-time job, now more important as ever, solely because we are now on the edge of passively allowing a dictator, a demagogue authoritarian and his minions to destroy everything we hold dear.

You really need to actually look at the ruling or listen to those who explained the ruling, you think what, Trump will restrain himself now that he is a potential REAL king, not one he would have had to force on us, it already was given to him, he will really be a king with ZERO accountability which is why people are in panic mode as we speak.
This is not some minor decree by SCOTUS, it completely upends the definition of what it is to be president.
Before yesterday, EVERYONE in the US INCLUDING the president had to abide by laws or be indicted and maybe get jail time for crimes committed but now that applies to EVERYONE ELSE BUT the president and right now that king is Biden.
And Biden really can order a hit squad on Trump or anyone else because he could say it is in his official duties as POTUS and NOTHING, LITERALLY NOTHING can be done about it BECAUSE now Biden RIGHT NOW is LITERALLY above the law.
