@vivify saidWell, it’s one of the reasons comedians are calling for Liz Truss to stay in power.
Just when I thought Boris Johnson was the absolute bottom of the barrel for UK politicians, a freak outlier in their history of PMs....enter Liz Truss.
The video is a compilation of Sarah Palin-esque stupidity I didn't think was possible outside the U.S.

Wow.
First Cameron (who fukked dead pig heads… literally), then Theresa May (completely incompentant…. Surely the next would be better&hellip😉 then came Boris the johnson… the less said the better… impossible to stoop lower than that… bingo! Liz Truss jumps into action.
The next tory prime minister could well be a retarded chimpansee or something. One never knows. But, recent history has shown that it’s always possible for the tories to come up with someone who tops the previous leader on the crack-pot scale.
@shavixmir saidThat guy takes porking literally.
First Cameron (who fukked dead pig heads)
In the perspective of time in power over the last 200 years, the UK Conservative Party probably the most successful political party in the world.
Since winning a landslide general election in December 2019 (which was partly due to the Labour Party’s shambolic opposition led by the extremist left wing loon Jeremy Corbyn) they have been lurching from one blunder to another and are now systematically dismantling themselves as a political body. They are now in a position where they have one move left.
But here’s the problem the Labour Party have; the current massive opinion poll lead they hold has virtually nothing to do with them being seen as a credible alternative, it’s all about dissatisfaction with the Tories.
The Tories last move available is to jettison the calamitous Liz Truss and install Rushi Sunak (runner up in the recent leadership contest), but it’s not easy because the majority of Tory MPs want Boris Johnson back. But I predict that’s what will happen sooner or later ~ Sunak will be PM and he’ll do a good job with Hunt as Chancellor. The opinions polls will settle , there will be a general election in 2 years, and Labour will lose it.
@vivify saidA different kind of dumb.

Wow.
At least Truss was not voted in by the Tory electorate, but only by the inner Tory party. The electorate probably preferred Sunak, and certainly did not want Truss. So, not quite as dumb as America's right-wing voters.
(Though they might want Boris back, which is also dumb but not as dumb as wanting Trump back; and the inner Conservative Party is quite as dumb as the inner Republican Party.)
@vivify saidIt ("allegedly" ) took place in an Oxbridge Eton Boys' club - think Bullingdon, but less casual sexual and physical violence against wait staff, and more self-involved debauchery - so yes, pork barrel is very definitely the point of the club.
That guy takes porking literally.
@shallow-blue saidNo it was the other way around; the wider Tory members voted for Truss but the Parliamentary vote went to Sunak,

@divegeester saidSunak would have been a much better choice and a probable election winner; but I think right now he may be too divisive a figure for the parliamentary Tory party to unite around. I think they'll choose someone bland and boring, probably someone who hasn't been a leadership contender recently. Ben Wallace might fit the bill.

I think the Tories will be punished at the next election no matter who's in charge. The Western world is going through a very difficult time at the moment - mainly because of external factors, but voters usually blame their governments whether or not it's their fault. After two more years of high interest rates and high fuel costs, I think a lot of habitual Tory voters will be alienated. Moreover, Keir Starmer's Labour Party is inching in the direction of offering what a lot of voters seem to want: economic interventionism coupled with a very gentle social conservatism. And Brexit's receding into the past, so Brexiteers who lent their votes to the Tories in 2019 will have no reason not to go back to Labour.
Political predictions are a fool's errand, but I predict that Truss will be out by Christmas, the new PM will be a white man, the Tories will lose the next election, but more narrowly than many expect, and Sunak will be leader of the opposition from 2024.
@divegeester saidElectorate =/= members.
No it was the other way around; the wider Tory members voted for Truss but the Parliamentary vote went to Sunak,
@teinosuke saidOh, please. Don't be so coyly pseudo-Qanon.

The world's (not just Western world's) problems are due to two things. One is, yes, the combined militarism of Russia and China. But the other half is the combined neo-con exceptionalism of both Trump and Boris.
Whatever happens, this is their fault, as well. Not just their fault; but very much the recent new-money neo-con politicians' fault, as well.
(And yes, that does include @&*$^&^$*@#&^ Rutte, may he rot in hell.)
@shallow-blue saidWhat do you mean then that she was only voted for by “the inner Tory party”?
Electorate =/= members.
@teinosuke saidA Penny Mordaunt / Sunak combo seems to be a distinct option for a lot of MPs and commentators.

@divegeester saidI mean exactly what I said before.
What do you mean then that she was only voted for by “the inner Tory party”?
She was voted in by the few members of the inner Tory party, not by the many, many more non-member country-wide electorate who would, in a general election, have voted for or against whatever member the Conservative Party would float in their constituency.
The Man on the Clapham Omnibus - or rather, the Man in the Buckinghamshire Ramblers' Association - would have preferred Boris or even Sunak to Truss. This is completely obvious from the reactions in the column inches. The Torytariat thought they preferred Truss, because they could... control her? Tickle her to get it right? Not let her inner Squirrel Nutcase get out? Whatever, they were obviously wrong. But for once, it's not the fault of Little England, it's the fault of Arrogant Eton.
