Depends but even guided weapons can miss for various reasons.

This cruise missile is equipped with an electro-optical system for correcting the flight trajectory and with a TV guidance system for terminal guidance. The Kh-101 is estimated to be accurate within 10-20 meter CEP. Some sources report that this missile has a CEP of just 5 meters.


If you're trying to hit a tower with a CEP of 5-20 meters (that means 50% chance of landing within that distance of the aim point) the projectile can easily miss.

If this were really some kind of ruse played by Ukraine to bring NATO into WW3 against Russia, one would think they would have chosen a juicier target than a farm. Hit the central business district of Warsaw or Berlin, say.

Looks like a Russian cruise missile was aimed at a power transmission tower on the Poland-Ukraine border and missed and landed in a Polish farming village killing 2 farmers.
Wrong.

The AP made a correction.
It was Ukrainian air defense gone wrong.

I guess it doesn't matter the missile was launched to stop a massive attack of REAL Russian missiles. It was not Putin's fault and I already posted the news link from reputable news sources that Ukraine launched the missile. They claim it was an accident even though they were quick to blame Russia for it. Even Zelenskyy blamed Russia when it was his country that launch the missile.

Zelenskyy wasn't aware his own country launched the missile?
If Putin claimed a missile launched from Russia came from another country would you believe him? Of course not, but you believe Zelenskyy. Right?
