"In 2019, Saudi Arabia spent almost $80bn on defence, the same as
Iran spent over the previous four years combined, according to the
London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies."

It would be really nice if every country in the world would cut their defence spending, pay off their debts, and spend a little more on infrastructure, clean energy projects, and helping the poor. It's not going to happen of course, but hope springs eternal.

Maybe after people realize religion is not meant to be a reason for violence.

Present-day Iran has done more for middle east peace than anyone in the past 25 years.

Iran has succeeded in so thoroughly antagonizing the Gulf states that fear of Iran has driven them towards peace with Israel.

Well done.

That is one strange way to view it. Interesting!

Actually Iran will need to buy arms to suppress its' own population . I get a Facebook feed from Iran . Savak-like tactics are being used against those who speak out against the regime .

This is probably why Trump ended the nuclear deal with Iran.

He wants to sell them nukes.

Iran is still under U.S. sanctions, so I doubt that. It probably has much more to do with the fact that Trump wants to erase anything Obama had a hand in.

You're right though. Donald can't think ahead to tomorrow, let alone months down the road.

The S-400 ADS was obsolete the minute it arrived in Iran.
Russia just unloaded a bunch of shiny junk to a desperate client.

It's the best SAM system in the world isn't it?
