That has nothing to do with the article. Doesn't even make sense.

There's a proposal that the vets are to use private medical insurance for their treatment, and you seem to be opposed to this.

I'm asking if this is because you oppose private medicine?

I'm opposed to this:

"Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance."

OK, so what makes this idea so controversial?

I thought everybody in the US was expected to use private medical insurance?

I am not playing your game. You are just being contrary for the sake of argument. There is no way you don't see what the problem is.

You either have your tongue well embedded in your cheek, or you're giving some guy a BJ. I suspect the latter.

veterans have earned medical insurance by their service, probably even contractually. people that can't be bothered to take a job haven't.

Were veterans well looked after by Bush/Cheney?

As a veteran, I can answer that for the most part, yes, I was treated good. There were some inconsistancies, but I'm not going to go there. I will deal with the Veteran's Administration soon enough when I file my claim for disability upon retirement from service.
