This is private insurance. There is no catch. It doesn't cover things such as dental care and physiotherapy, though, so additional insurance is needed for those.

My point isn't one of boneheadedness, but certain posters here argue strongly that the free market is always the answer. So, I'm surprised to see them advocate a state-controlled solution here.
This isn't the same thing as universal insurance. This is worker's compensation. If you are injured on the job in the US your employer is required to provide insurance for that.
