Look, this is really simple: Most Americans like to drive when and where they want (no carpooling), to have (nearly) immediate gratification, to worship as they please, and to have their right to own guns unimpeded. There are many shootings that happen because our laws allow us this liberty--and that's unfortunate. And the number of people who actually prevent a crime by having a weapon on them at the right place and time is no doubt few in comparison to all the shootings that occur. But I still would rather live where I have the right to bear arms- to protect myself and family from both criminals AND a corrupt government; calling 9-1-1 is simply not enough. Most Americans concur, and if someday they don't, the 2nd Amendment will go the way of Prohibition. If that becomes the law of the land, I'll abide by it. I just hope it never happens.

EDIT. i never said you should ban guns. i said i think it is pointless to have one. i said i would never get one unless special circumstances. sure you might want a gun if you live in that great idea of yours called suburb. but if you want a gun, you must pass psych tests, attend shooting school and passing it(safety measures too), registering every gun, kickass punishments for those owning a gun without permit etc. the second amendment doesn't say anything about stupid people, psycho people, ex convicts, people blinder than bats etc. it simply says lets allow anyone to have a gun(in the case of pritybetta several)
