A People Betrayed : Twice before, Washington let Kurds die to promote foreign-policy designs. Now it’s the Bush Administration doing the deed.

https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1991-04-14-op-141-story.html

When asked to explain America’s duplicity towards the Kurds, Kissinger delivered a one-liner that effectively sums up the perpetual purpose of phallocentric, necrophilic U.S. foreign policy: “Covert action should not be confused with missionary work.”

There are no white hats when it comes to foreign policy. If you want to fight evil, start with your own country first.

Yes. The US foreign policy has been evil since the 50’s.

Your point?

Don't expect anything different now.

US foreign policy has been evil long before the 50s. What about the Spanish/American war? The USS Maine was not attacked by Spain. False flag. That was the start of American imperialism on the world stage. Look up "the age of imperialism".

There is plenty that needs to be changed regarding my own country.
First I will work on that.

You just want to prolong the war in Ukraine. You do not want peace. Putin's demands for ending the war are reasonable. Do you even know what they are?

Yes. Apparently I was.
You said since the 50s, not 1898. I could have argued the stealing of native American land was imperialism too, but nobody cared about them.

After killing a lot of people in the Philippines Theodore Roosevelt was running for President. His stated reason for continuing to occupy the Philippines was that they were a backwards people and needed us there.

No, I am hoping Ukraine takes NATO membership out of their constitution for peace. That what he wanted. That and acknowledge Donbas and Crimea are part of Russia, but Russia already has them. The people in Donbas and Crimea are mostly pro Russian anyway, so Ukraine will never get them back unless another nation joins the war against Russia and takes them by military force.

No and neither do you but I know it won’t be anything short of rendering Ukraine unviable as a sovereign nation because that’s why he invaded in the first place after he realised that invading Crimea and the Donbas wasn’t doing the job.

"Russia has told Ukraine it is ready to halt military operations "in a moment" if Kyiv meets a list of conditions, the Kremlin spokesman said on Monday.

Dmitry Peskov said Moscow was demanding that Ukraine cease military action, change its constitution to enshrine neutrality, acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory, and recognise the separatist republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as independent states."

Now you know. Those are reasonable terms in my opinion. Don't you agree?

So your answer to tyrants is to give them everything they want?

Why do you always, always, always, without fail, grab the wrong end of the stick on every single issue? One person just can't be that stupid. I'd expect you to at least get one out of a thousand right.

Zahlanzi, responding to a seemingly sensible OP by MB, said "how long will it take for you to go off the rails?"

This is what he was talking about. MB will occasionally seem to bring up legitimate points about an issue but somehow come to an absurd conclusion.

Is there anything on that list you concluded was unacceptable. If so, what is it?

If neutrality means no EU membership then that’s not neutrality it’s puppet state status. If it means no nato membership then that is the De Facto state anyway because NATO could never get the the 30 votes required.
Also If neutrality means no support from nato or anyone else in terms of defensive weapon supplies then again that is puppet state status and unacceptable to any sovereign nation especially one whose much larger neighbour has already invaded and annexed large chunks of the country.
I see that link is dated 18 days ago and since then it is obvious Russia is looking to link Crimea up with mother Russia via a land link that runs right across southern Ukraine and if they go as far as Odessa Ukraine becomes a unviable landlocked country, also unacceptable.
Let’s just wait for the official positions before we pretend to know just how much of Ukraine Putin intends to steal.
Given the way this war is going for him he’d better not chance his arm being greedy though.
It seems likely that the term ‘bloc’ will mean the EU and not just nato so it’s a non starter from the Ukrainian peoples perspective.
