If global warming was as severe as scientists make out ,instead of fighting in Afghanistan we should have taken control of every threatened rain forest ,by force if need be .
What would be worse ,the London underground bombing's and the twin towers in the US or losing whole towns and cities to rising sea levels??
Building more run ways to heathrow .more air traffic ,more pollution !
If the government dont seem to worry with all its top scientists, dont you think we will be sceptical about the whole global warming thing too??

Fairly obviously, the fact that the dangers of global warming are a few years in the future means that people don't worry about them as much as they do about an imminent terrorist attack. That's why it's difficult to persuade people to vote for action on climate change.

They're not listening for the again fairly obvious reason that it's electorally unthinkable to tell people that they can't have their cheap flights to Majorca and their cheap bottles of Australian wine.

What is your alternative to peer-reviewed scientific journals when it comes to establishing scientific theories and models? Then add to that governments around the world raking in billions of dollars off the notion that bacterial organisms do not and cannot cause uclers and what do you come up with? You come up with someone who will probably be crushed if they try to come forward with their findings, that is if they even dare to do so.
Conversely, now lets take scientist who knows what the powers that be would like them to say and research. They know who the hands that feed them are...that is if they want to be funded.
