@wolfe63 saidWhy yes, you contributed a lot to the discussion with the vague bit of fortune cookie wisdom that the world is not black and white. You haven't missed my point at all that the democrats are starting their position on a darker and darker grey and expected to be compromising to the republican's black.

@zahlanzi saidI’ll keep it simple, if you don’t vote for the lesser of two evils then you get the greater of two evils.
"Yes I do envisage Dem campaigners / supporters keeping silent about Biden’s many flaws"
If Sanders would lie about Biden, he would lose instantly the respect of his followers. He would lose them even if he kept silent.
"I expect them to be too busy pointing out and reminding swing voters of Trumps many flaws."

It’s too easy for us who don’t have to live with the consequences of another four years of Trump to pretend, for the sake of long term goals, that there’s nothing to choose between Trump snd Biden but that would be a blatant lie.
There is so much to gain just from getting Trump and his corrupt administration out of power that reasonable rather than churlish voters should be queuing around the block in the pouring rain to vote for Biden.
BTW there is no majority in the US for a Sanders ticket, there wasn’t four years ago and there won’t be in four years time, it’s a shame but it’s true. Even Sanders is getting behind Biden and talking about bringing his left wing policies into the mainstream .

I'll keep it simpler: when you do vote for the lesser of two evils you aren't required to smile and praise that lesser of two evils and shout to the heavens what a great choice it is instead of the crap sandwich you are more willing to stomach between two crap sandwiches.
I have never said in this thread that one should stay home and not vote

Yeah except no one has called for this and no one would expect it. What’s being called for is some kind of United front for the duration of the campaign. No one is naive enough to think that any one candidate can keep both wings of any party happy. There are a lot of unhappy Republicans voting for and publicly supporting, or not publicly criticising, Trump for purely electoral reasons.
The ideological war within the Democratic party has been going on for a while and it isn’t going to stop just because Biden becomes President.
The post that was quoted here has been removedBecause Trump wasn't flat out threatening in 2016 he will use the US army against his own people, he wasn't toying with the idea that he wouldn't leave the white house if he loses 2020 or that he will seek a third term in 2024, he wasn't actually flat out undermining the voting process, we didn't know exactly the level of pettiness he was capable of to dismantle anything Obama every accomplished, with no regard for policy and we didn't have a COVID epidemic that he woefully mismanaged and made worse, threatening not just he US but also the entire world.
Are these sufficient reasons? I could go on adding reasons to the list.
@kevcvs57 saidThat's exactly what many democrats are asking for. Any criticism of Biden is viewed as endorsing Trump.

Nope. In fact it's the opposite. They are both corporate stooges with horrible records but at least Clinton's brain isn't porridge.
Fish for sexisms somewhere else.

Americans who had already heard enough from Trump before 2016 already believed Trump the first time he showed us who he was long before the election. We already knew a Trump presidency was going to be a s--- show of epic proportions. But because there were American voters as ignorant of him before the election as you apparently were, they took a chance on him, and look where we are now. And this is not even counting all the voter suppression done in his name. The problem was that, as bad a choice as Trump was, there were also a small measure of Democrats who saw the election as such a no-brainer that they thought, "How could anyone vote for this con man?", and so didn't vote. This, combined with the large numbers of weak-minded Republicans who, because they grew up listening to the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage on the radio, already hated Clintion, and now we have the worst-case scenario. In short, most of us knew Trump would be exactly this bad, but this still wasn't enough to keep him out of office, mainly because of ignorant excuses like you're giving here.
