Look at this!

Record-high ratio of Americans in prison

Drugs users have an inalienable right to pursue happiness any way they choose, as long as they don't violate the rights of others. LET MY PEOPLE GO!

Drug users don't have the right to violate laws on the books though, so until the time you can get the Supreme Court to state that all drug laws are unConstituional, society will keep locking them up.

You fail to comprehend the concept of inalienable rights. You also must think the Founding Fathers were traitors for breaking the laws of England. Anyway, you despise the Constitution. Who are you to talk about it?

Was Dr. Martin Luther King evil? Rosa Parks? Should they have meekly obeyed the law until the government gave them permission to be free of it's own volition? Was it wrong of them to protest in a manner that was against the law?

I'm with you, but with the reservation that the individual's drug taking becomes society's problem as soon as the person doing the drugs starts driving a car, or stops being able to pay his way, or has medical problems that require state sponsored medical treatment.

Once again I am proved correct--no nation can win a war against a common noun. War on poverty? LOS-er. War on drugs? Nope. terrorism? Yeah, right. Let's try for a war on virginity. Or sarcasm. Ot illiteracy--oh yeah, that makes is 0-4.

Yea despite your sarcasm I think you just made his point for him. Cigarettes don't get you high, they aren't even a lot of fun to smoke
(Im a smoker). but they are more harmful than cocaine, and more addictive than heroin. And they're legal?

Oh that's right if the government banned them they have to start taxing shoes heavily to cover the deficit, everyone wears shoes right?

Nah. You missed my point. He was comparing cigs with harder drugs, as if they had the same effect. What i,m saying is, like alcohol and cigs., if they legalize harder drugs the gov't will just impose laws where and when you can use them. There are strict laws in many American cities that restrict smoking or drinking. I don't want the same thing happening with hard drugs when i become an a druggie. I want to be able to hit that bong anytime and anywhere i want to or why get started in the first place. I am all for legalizing all forms of drugs, it's that stinkin' gov't control i'm against. Tax shoes? I'll go barefoot! I could go on , but i've run out of gin & tonic.

You're right about alcohol that's why i only brought up cigs. The point is, i don't want the gov't telling me when and where i can smoke, drink, or do drugs. I want to bong when i want to bong! It's bad enough they're going to tax it, and use the money to fight some war who knows where, can't they just leave me alone?
