I've had this opinion for a while now.
But that this is being put forth by the former speech writer for GW Bush is significant.
Of course the Trumpskulls trolling the COVID 19 pandemic to death in these forums are tagging right along.
Coronavirus is just another flu.

I'm still trying to process what happened a few days ago when the so-called leader of the western world suggested trialling injecting disinfectant into the lungs. If it happened in a movie people would say the script was silly.
It's incredible history occurring in our time and no matter what happens now this will be his legacy.

Hybrid systems so to speak.
Germany, UK, France, Scandinavian countries and others all operate on a free market with social programs to various extents.
What I perceive to be different about America is that free market ideology seems to be joined at the hip with social conservatism when it doesn’t really need to be.
Many in these forums are having difficulty digesting the idea you can have free market capitalism without social conservatism.
Those that post in protest against any notion of liberalism are just social conservatives pretending to be free market capitalists.
Do you ever wonder why some of these posters are railing against those who have achieved wealth from the free market ideology ??
And are labelling them as elitists ? And liberals ?
Perhaps capitalism is a form of economic liberalism.
I read posts from those in this forum who are dedicated socialists.
I may not agree with them, (I’m not really a socialist myself), but I can at least respect their opinion.
At least they don’t wallow in hypocrisy like the social conservatives.
