Either an international agreement fixed their borders or the borders were fixed by warfare.
Not necessarily the latter, but certainly the former.

I'm pretty much sure it's one of the two in a majority of cases.

Obviously there are a few exceptions, countries hemmed in by natural borders, but I can't think of one which naturally came into existance without the use of force (on indiginous peoples) or through treaty.

You, for example, are a perfect example that humans did evolve from primitive monkeys.
and you are not human, I presume, because Allah put you here without benefit of the monkey ancestry?

Did he leave a deposit on you?

At least I've evolved -- you still have all the talent and intelligence to keep living in a cave, which I believe a lot of folks with your point of view seem to do as they haven't the brains or will to better themselves.

Wow! Laying into non-native speakers about their spelling and grammar! You join a small select class of posters who sink to such a thing on an international web site. Maybe it passes for 'wit' Inside The Beltway? Who knows?

When someone is whining over others spelling, then he himself is exposed to the same critics. If he cannot take this, then he is Mr Real Whiner of all times.

No no, I'm not talking about you, no way, you don't whine. Never I've seen you whine, uh uh.

My speling is beter then yors! 🙂

how about you, are you entitled to exist?

why, perhaps only to serve as a warning to others ..

you appear to be descended from a long line your mother listened to. Of course, some of us descended from the trees a little later than others ...
i must decide if you are trying to be funny, offensive or abnoxious.
i must decide if you are actually communicating something.
i must decide if i want to ask somebody for some damn. coz right now i don't give any.

The acceptance has existed long enough for the world culture to include the existence of th ...[text shortened]... ave a magic number in my head above which a country is accepted and below which it isn't.
yes, that kind of seems right. the magic number in my opinion doesn't have to be high. it has to include the right people. and the people not included must decide how much they care to do something about it.

if amerika recognizes your right to a country, and russia or china doesn't but decides it doesn't care enough to intervene, it doesn't really matter that many other countries do not allow you to have a country.

which leaves us to another question. if you have the strength to take and maintain land, is it yours? does it belong to the conquered people and how can they get it back if nobody cares?
