They must have thought it through a bit.

Before fuelling Hamas to make the attack last weekend Iran must have realised and predicted the scale of response from Israel. Gaza will be more or less levelled in Israel’s attempt to destroy Hamas in the immediate region, and get the hostages back which is unlikely.

I think I’ve read about Israeli strikes on Syrian airbases so the Israelis are already a few moves ahead and are probably fearing an attack from the north east. Not sure where Jordan is in all this.

Thoughts.

Israel are doing themselves no favours, by the end of their attacks in Gaza I predict even America will say they went too far.

There doesn’t seem to be much evidence that Iran gave Hamas the go ahead.

But, as for what Hamas is up to? God only knows. They surely must have anticipated Israel’s reaction to their attack. I can’t fathom what they’re thinking.

Iran will closely watch and try to eke out their advantage (e.g. furthering Hisbollah instaed of Hamas).

For sure. Wars always go too far, wars are a step too far.
Any thoughts on the OP?

It’s worth noting that a majority of the Hamas strikes came from sea based forces I believe. If that’s true what does it tell us… I think it tells us the brains and main muscle aren’t in Gaza but safely offshore somewhere. I don’t think the general Palestinians had any idea what was going to happen other than the ones who made the ground incursions.

There’s got to be a bigger plan in play and it’s been decided Gaza will be sacrificed for it.

The Iranians will sit back and smoke a hookah while Israel destroys the détente initiative between Israel and Saudi Arabia being brokered by the USA along with a lot of Sunni Muslim civilians
Jordan will do nothing probably, the Syria and Lebanons Hezbollah will do whatever Russia and Iran tell them to which I guess be to do nothing, given that the US has a strike force sitting in the med bristling with nation destroying weapons

Iran had nothing to do with it. Netanyahu let it happen because the people of Israel were unhappy with him trying to be a dictator.

Israel funded Hamas so maybe you should be calling for bombing Israel.

Hahaha suck it up you stupid boy, they won’t officially announce Iran’s involvement until it’s strategically advantageous or at least not disadvantageous
I think I know why you fall for every stupid piece of propaganda, it’s because your either incredibly thick or a blatant lying pusher of propaganda yourself
Of course Terhran played a part in this you dummy

I currently remain convinced that Iran is behind it to some extent, even if it’s just to see Israel get a bloody nose. It’s fuked up religious based regime.

The bedrock problem imo is that all these nations think they are God’s chosen ones and should be given the keys to the kingdom whilst holding the throats of their siblings to the sword. Ok Israel is largely secular nowadays, but “Cain and Abel” & “Isaac and Ishmael” is where it all started.
