What is a drunkard?

A drunkard is someone who likes to be in the state of alcoholic intoxication ( probably fir emotional reasons ) or maybe just likes the way it feels.
An alcoholic is addicted to alcohol on a chemical level and suffers physical withdrawals if they don’t consume alcohol and getting drunk is a side effect for them rather than a goal.

Should probably add that alcohol problems are very often masking the underlying problem of depression.
