I don’t even know what Woke is, and now the Mob throws this at us. Another thread here will not speak to my question, and my concerns, of having my freedom (of speech and everything else) andmy liberty encroached upon. Even lib Obama says Cancel Culture does that.
First , can someone please explain the tenets of cancel culture?
@averagejoe1 said"Cancel culture refers to the popular practice of withdrawing support for (canceling) public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive. Cancel culture is generally discussed as being performed on social media in the form of group shaming."

So it's what you claimed to do when you said you cancelled Netflix for having a movie you found offensive.
Cancel culture is what the opponents of woke call the actions as described by No.1.
So, if the movie being shamed into removal was a right-wing movie about flakes opposing gun-culture. The alt-right would scream (along with Jordan Peterson): cancel culture!
But when it’s the right-wingers shaming a movie into removal... it’s... the alt-right standing up for just morality and Christian values.
@no1marauder saidHello? This is not one of your best days.

https://www.dictionary.com/e/pop-culture/cancel-culture/#:~:text=Cancel%20 ...[text shortened]... s what you claimed to do when you said you cancelled Netflix for having a movie you found offensive.
If the people, who are self-appointed culture police, you being apparently included, "cancel public figures and companies after they have done or said something offensive or objectionable", they are doing some blanket canceling intended to affect other people. I am other people. I make my own decisions, like Netflix.
But the culture people are acting IN CONCERT to affect other people. You are suggesting targeting, as a group (Man do you people depend on groups...) ...targeting someone. It is that simple. You see Marauder, you are unable, being dependent, to sit in your living room and delete Netflix on your own. You need a group, and you need to broadcast what you are doing and start a movement. Against a company, or a person. I deleted netflix, by myself, and took off to play golf. Didn't even mention it. But you as a groupie would have to mention it, push it. You should learn to act on your own, it feels darn good.
This is not your day.
@averagejoe1 saidThen why are you always struggling to keep up?
You should learn to act on your own, it feels darn good.
@averagejoe1 saidLMAO! You only knew about the whole Cuties controversy because another poster started a thread about it with an OP quoting an article showing the EXACT type of social media campaign that you incessantly complain about IF liberals do it!

These posts of yours are so stupidly hypocritical that they read like an Onion piece.
@no1marauder saidhow is AJ statement a "culture"?

@no1marauder saidyou infer than no one should have an opinion. Cancel culture is a group activity that wants to cancel any and everything that doesnt conform to their political views. Quiet a huge leap to label a persons personal opinion as the same as an entire group conspiring to accomplish an outcome.
LMAO! You only knew about the whole Cuties controversy because another poster started a thread about it with an OP quoting an article showing the EXACT type of social media campaign that you incessantly complain about IF liberals do it!

@mott-the-hoople saidThe outburst against Cuties was a "group activity" fueled by social media as Earl's link in his OP in the other thread makes clear.

@no1marauder saidwhat group?
The outburst against Cuties was a "group activity" fueled by social media as Earl's link in his OP in the other thread makes clear.
@mott-the-hoople saidEarl's link quotes Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch.
what group?
And the Daily Caller.
And Mary Margaret Olohan who writes for the Daily Caller and Daily Signal.
And Kyle Hooten who "has written for Alpha News, the Daily Caller, the Wall Street Journal, the College Fix, and Campus Reform. He has appeared on Fox & Friends, Fox's The Story with Martha MacCallum, Newsmax and local TV. His work has appeared on The Rush Limbaugh Show and Tucker Carlson Tonight and been reported by the Washington Examiner, Drudge Report, Blaze Media, PJ Media, National Review, Citizens Journal, Western Journal, Yahoo News, NTD Television, and dozens of other outlets." https://alphanewsmn.com/author/kyle-hooten/
And Cabot Phillips, Editor-in-Chief of the conservative publication CampusReform.org and serves as the Director of Campus Outreach for The Leadership Institute, a conservative grassroots organization in Arlington, Virginia.
There's a few others, but you get the idea: a bunch of right wing personalities.
@no1marauder saidso there is no group?

@no1marauder saidYou could have a non-issue in raising this point, but I actually saw a piece on FOX, and then in 5 minutes the post popped up.

But tell me, are you saying that because I found some public information here, or on FOX, or on an elevator, or from my 12 year old, that it would have ANY bearing on this discussion?? Where in the world are you coming from? Not your day today.
@averagejoe1 saidI realize you don't have any coherent message in any of your posts, BUT it does show that your claim that you, all by your lonesome, decided to cancel Netflix (which you're probably lying about anyway) was a bunch of hooey - you followed along like a good sheep.
