Already two lethal injection death penalties this year and we're only in the second month. This latest one could well have been innocent, Raheem Taylor had an alibi- he was in another state.
Kevin Johnson was executed last November in Missouri despite a court-appointed special prosecutor’s request to vacate his death sentence.
Why is Missouri so keen on the death penalty.

He left for California on November 26, after the murders took place.
The bodies weren't discovered until December 3.

"At trial, the medical examiner drastically changed the time of death estimation — widening the potential range of dates during which Ms. Rowe and her children might have been killed — with no sound explanation. Yet none of Mr. Taylor’s previous attorneys retained a forensic pathologist to review the medical examiner’s changing estimation until now. Had they done so, they likely would have found evidence supporting Mr. Taylor’s innocence."

What's going in in Mussouri that it doesn't matter?

The death penalty is absurdly out of date.

Hence that most civilized nations have done away with it.

The crackers in the US are just lagging behind on the old human evolution.

So he just...out of the blue....took off and left his home/family and went to California with no explanation and went into hiding.
Right.

Is this representative? Two examples is a pretty low sample size. The due process issues are a concern though, as you suggest.
