@averagejoe1 saidWhat if the costs exceed the payments? Should the son with more money step up and pay more to save his mother?
No, the answer to that is that each of the six boys are paying expenses, which would include emergencies with their parents.
@averagejoe1 saidYour proposition is ridiculous.
The taxes they pay cover roads, et al. And they may or may not have products. But, who cares about their money? I just don’t get it.
Two rich guys buy a shack.....geeze 😛
@averagejoe1 saidHere we go again.
Saw Bernie debate Lindsey Graham. He opens up with how there are a lot of rich people, and that something needs to be done about it. I get the socialism desires, but please answer me this.
If 1000 people live on an island, and 2 of them, unknown to each other, have a LOT more money than everyone else..................what business is that of the other 998 peopl ...[text shortened]... t I fear names, and words like government, will surface, which have nothing to do with the question.
You have the world view of an ideological simpleton.
@jimm619 saidOK, bad analogy, not realistic.....I am just trying to help all you fellers. Go to the 6 brothers in a house scenario. We need to see why someone, who has made more money than others, should give some of the fruits of his labor to another. That is what Bernie wants.
Your proposition is ridiculous.

@averagejoe1 saidYa' gotta' pay school taxes,

even if you have no children.
@vivify saidYes, to save his mother, and his daddy if he needs it. But then, one of the brothers owes big debt, or another got a girl pregnant, or another needs money because he cannot pay the car payments....tell me, when does it end. Cover them too? A birds eye view of the America you want? Creeps.
What if the costs exceed the payments? Should the son with more money step up and pay more to save his mother?
I aint that mean.....if one of them develops a disease and needs money for an operation, that calls for the rich guy's help. Note, it is not the fault of the sick brother that he has cancer. But, the debtor, the pregnancy, the car payments,,,,,,,them fellers need a 2nd job. And Certainly they would not want a socialist family. Especially the guy who made something of himself.
@jimm619 saidYou do, indeed. School taxes are almost exclusively included in property taxes, which, again, are divided equally between those living together in the house, as part of maintenance and expenses. Rich guy pays 1/6 of the expenses. Sounds fair to me, I wonder for the life of me why the liberal sect do not think that is fair. I truly don't get it.
Ya' gotta' pay school taxes,
even if you have no children.
@AverageJoe1
You mean rich guys like Trump who paid ZERO taxes and then bragged about how smart he was to do that?
@averagejoe1 saidHow do you get six?....

Your propositions are ludicrous.
This thread in nonsensical.
@averagejoe1 saidIn this second inane analogy the rich guy got his money from owning stocks. No labor involved

@averagejoe1 saidWhat is this supposed to be an analogy of?!
OK, seriously guys, give me one more shot, easy analogy.
two parents and 6 sons all live together in one house. One son is a priests, another owns a bike shop, ....and ONE of them is a stock broker who makes a LOT of money. Everyone pays an equal share for all household expenses. Stockbroker has a LOT of money in large box under his bed.
Does his wealth have A ...[text shortened]... upants of the house? #1, Is anyone entitled to it? #2, does he owe any of it to any of the others?
So we have 6 taxable citizens but also a priest’s congregation and enough businesses running with employees to provide an income for this stockbroker parasite. Why are they excluded from “expenses”? What is the house supposed to represent? What about the parents? They get a free ride? Who owns the house?
What are you going to do do punish the brother who can’t afford to pay 1/6?
@sonhouse saidWell, let's say yeah, rich guys like Trump, not that it is germane to the subject. Does that change the discussion? I mean, maybe another rich guy lives next door?
@AverageJoe1
You mean rich guys like Trump who paid ZERO taxes and then bragged about how smart he was to do that?
@jimm619 saidMy premise is SIX brothers living in a house together, sharing expenses of maintenance and utilities. I said 6 (SIX). It should be a given that mom and dad are retired, they are not in the equation. So, how bout an answer on this.
How do you get six?....
Your propositions are ludicrous.

@athousandyoung saidLet us all stipulate that the rich guy did indeed get his money from stock he bought which increased in value big time. So, what is your answer to the main question?
In this second inane analogy the rich guy got his money from owning stocks. No labor involved
