Referring to his opponents as "vermin". Vermin are pests, not humans. When you talk about other people like this, it turns them into non-humans that can be squished like bugs.

Referring to immigrants as "garbage". Garbage is for the trash can. Telling supporters that they are "poisoning the blood of our country" which is straight out of the third reich.

Saying that Haitians are eating pet cats and dogs on the national debate stage. This one speaks for itself.

Fascism slowly creeps up on you until you get to the point where you can justify putting the non-human vermin garbage into immigrant detention centers without due process and let them rot there.

Actually if the context of these statements is included then it takes on a whole different meaning. Trump is actually very correct. The truth might be unpleasant but nevertheless correct.

Garbage - Some immigrants do in fact fit this description. Some immigrants enter your country to steal, kill, rape and commit all manner of evil and crime. They are in fact garbage.

Eating cats and dogs - This is not an insult but a common practice in many parts of the world. If you are accostomed to eating a steak at home, and you do travel to India, it wont be farfetched neither an insult for people to say you are eating beef.

It does not take on new meaning at all. This human is a better human than that other human. You are dehumanizing people, which justifies violence, torture, persecution of those sub-humans.

You have every right to believe these things about other people who don't meet your standards as a human being, but its a defining characteristic of fascism.

Murders, rapists, pedophiles and humans that practice other forms of evil are not on the same level as decent law-abiding humans. Some humans are better than others.

People dehumanize themselves. Nobody is justifying violence against these people, but is it important not to place crooked murderous vile humans on the same level with normal humans.

It is not fascist to recognize this simple fact.

Yeah, he was taking about foreigners in general. We have a criminal justice system to deal with actual criminals.

It's a clear fascist trademark. Fascism insists that the country is not just a collection of individuals but a people. Some Jewish people were criminals, too, but over time using almost exactly the same rhetoric the Jewish people were seen as separate, inferior parasites within the Aryan Nazis. The language got progressively more aggressive over a long time frame. This march from propaganda to legalized prosecution and persecution, to physical separation, to torture, took a long time but it's been studied exhaustively and we're witnessing exactly the same thing today. Trump, Vance talk about the blood being poisoned by foreigners, the "Heritage Americans" movement which insists that you should leave America (or be persecuted) unless your ancestors fought in the Civil War.

The criminals part is propaganda. If they wanted to prosecute criminals we already have a process for that. Its foreigners, those not born here and even some that were but have foreign-born parents, those with different cultures than us, who are being dehumanized. Tens of thousands are currently rotting in "detention centers" without trial or access to legal representation.

Hatred's different than dehumanization. Criminal justice is also different than dehumanization.

Consider that at least 45,000 of the people currently imprisoned by our government are not criminals. Some of those people were snatched from their homes without a warrant. Some of those people have been locked up for over a year. These facts are o.k. for fascists because their leader has called them vermin and garbage and they are poisoning our blood.

It's not criminals or terrorists who are being dehumanized here. These are people who had jobs and families until Trump's gestapo busted their door in.

It appears that the former administration allowed in several million people without proper authorisation or paperwork and without jobs etc, so it was a burden on the US welfare system. Clearly it was the stupidity of YOUR NON_FASCIST party that created the mess with immigration in the first place, and your non-fascist party ignored the pleas of the people to fix it.

This is why Trump and his fascist party won the election... primarily to fix the immigration mess created by non-fascists.

And this is the end result... immigrants are in jail.

Western, civilized countries decided 80 years ago that fascism is never the solution to any problems. It's tempting, but the cost is way too high.
