The US Army has an IED manual for soldiers to use in combat to improvise. One of them is a sticky bomb. One way to make a sticky bomb is to use axal grease and I saw an example in an old movie.
I have not seen any in modern movies though. A better adhesive could be used to make an effective sticky bomb. Could you imagine a pipe bomb made to be a sticky bomb sticking to the windshield of a fast moving car or truck? There would be no way to get it off before it detonates. Scary!
Could it be that the powers that be do not want people to know about this because it scares the crap out of them? That would explain why I have not seen any sticky bombs in any modern movie. It scares the crap out of them.
@metal-brain saidSaving Private Ryan.

@no1marauder saidIs that the movie where they used a sticky bomb to disable a tank?
Saving Private Ryan.
@metal-brain saidReally you think ‘they’ control Hollywood to the point where they can edit out a simple and obvious idea like a a home made bomb with double sided tape on it 😂😂 it’s your head that’s scary .

And sticky bombs are far more dangerous to use than an RPG. So, use RPG’s.
@metal-brain said😂😂 your as “mad as a March hare” but I could stand at the edge of the meadow and watch you for hours 👍🏻

CIA briefing :-
“Oh crap the Taliban have scooped up all the armaments and tech gear we gave to the Afghan Army”
“Never mind that, have they figured out the sticky bomb thing yet”
“No don’t worry sir we have total control of Hollywood”
“Phew”
@shavixmir saidBecause it would be like the coyote trying to throw it at the roadrunner and it sticks to the coyote's hand so he cannot throw it. Right?
It was in Saving Private Ryan.

@metal-brain saidNo. Because to ise a sticky bomb, you have to get up close to the target. And the closer you are, the higher the chance of something going wrong (like a Tiger tank shooting you).

@shavixmir saidIt depends what you use for the sticky part. I'm pretty sure you could get an IED to stick to a moving target from afar if it has the right adhesive used. I am not suggesting axal grease.

You are not very creative.
@Metal-Brain
How would you launch said "sticky bomb"?
Shavixmir is right... just use a damn RPG
@c-i-v saidI don't have an RPG.

You act as if I can go into a store and buy one like buying a time bomb on that old movie "Airplane". This is about IEDs, not publicly banned military weapons. Besides, a sticky bomb would make for a better movie. People would have to jump out of the moving vehicle to live. Better suspense.
@c-i-v saidI have no intention of using something like that. It is just a thought experiment and it would make for interesting action movies. Maybe some early attempts to make synthetic rubber could be altered to make it stickier.
