Just ONE of the things we will no longer be able to buy. What you gonna do when your cell phone dies in the coming months when the shipments dry up?
As just one example.
One thing me and my wife loves are mango's. No more of those all made possible by the incredibly insightful Trump tariffs.
Now Trump says, who needs 30 dolls for Christmas, they don't need more than two and THOSE might cost a few dollars more. Unquote.
An admission his tariff policies are ruining our internal market place.
No more Toyota Cars, Honda, Subaru, only Chevy and Ford and jeeps.
But a lot of parts for even THOSE cars come from overseas so how are they going to be able to put them together, eh?
Don't forget SHOES, clothes and such. Or TV sets, or computers, laptops, What of high tech is actually made here?
I don't think Trump included those kind of thoughts in his Tariff war.
He actually thinks he can kill off the IRS and depend on Tariffs for all our government coffers.
Which in itself is a loser since our economy is ALREADY tanking BEFORE the shipments stop coming in, they are WAY down right now, NOBODY wants to do business with us any more.
So what money will be coming in if Trump kills off the IRS and thinks we can all live on Tariff money?
@Cliff-Mashburn saidhouseboy likes him some chinese phones made with slave labor
OMG America will have to start making stuff again, whatever will we do?

@Zahlanzi saidYou are a very unreliable source of information. Almost nothing you say can be trusted. Average cell phones range in price from $600 to 1,000 US. When the tariff is imposed these will be from $800 to $1200, if so much. These tariffs are likely to be negotiated downward as other countries retaliate. You need to take some estrogen-reducing pills. You have a bit too much feminine drama and too little hard fact homormones.

" Apple's new investment — much of it in red states — lets Trump say to other companies: Apple can do it. Why can't (or won't) you?
Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the announcement: "We are bullish on the future of American innovation, and we're proud to build on our longstanding U.S. investments with this $500 billion commitment to our country's future."
"From doubling our Advanced Manufacturing Fund [from $5 billion to $10 billion], to building advanced technology in Texas, we're thrilled to expand our support for American manufacturing," Cook added. "And we'll keep working with people and companies across this country to help write an extraordinary new chapter in the history of American innovation.""

These are ongoing commitments. Obviously the 10 year plan to increase domestic manufacturing in the future won't have any effect on where your cell phone comes from during Trump's presidency.
Apple was already doing this. The crippling tariffs are pointless.

@Cliff-Mashburn said"Cell phones need a variety of materials sourced from China, including rare earth elements, gallium, germanium, and certain minerals like gold, copper, and silver, which are crucial for various components like screens, chips, and wiring. OMG America will have to start making stuff again, whatever will we do?
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Rare Earth Elements (REEs):
.
China is the world's largest producer of REEs, which are essential for various phone components, including display screens, vibrating motors, and speakers. Lanthanum, for example, gives smartphone screens their smoothness and color pop, while neodymium's super-high magnetism is used in microphones, speakers, and vibration units.
Gallium and Germanium:
.
These elements are crucial for semiconductor chips used in cell phones and other electronics.
Minerals:
.
China is a major source of minerals like gold, copper, and silver, which are used in the wiring and circuitry of the phone.
Battery Materials:

China is a major player in the production of graphite and lithium, essential ingredients for phone batteries.
Other Materials:

China is also a significant supplier of other materials like tungsten, which is used in vibration motors."

Think again dumb arse.
It would take at least a decade to get along without China in the cell-phone industry. In China, most workers get $3.00 a day plus a hot and a cot in a dorm with showers etc. Now compare that to USA workers. The prices will sky rocket, just as everything else that Humpty Trumpy or Musk-rat have touched.
" Ukraine does not possess all the necessary minerals required to manufacture cell phones on its own. While Ukraine is rich in critical minerals and has a significant portion of global reserves, it lacks commercially operational rare earth mines, a crucial component in phone production.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Ukraine has vast reserves of key minerals:
Ukraine holds substantial reserves of various critical minerals, including lithium, beryllium, manganese, gallium, zirconium, graphite, and nickel, which are vital for the electronics industry, especially cell phone manufacturing.
Ukraine lacks rare earth elements production:
While Ukraine has some rare earth elements, it currently does not have any commercially operational rare earth mines. These elements are essential for cell phone magnets and other components.
China's dominance in rare earth production:
China is currently the world's largest producer of rare earths and many other critical minerals, making it a significant player in the global supply chain of these materials.
Potential for cooperation:
The World Economic Forum describes Ukraine as a key potential supplier of rare earth metals. This suggests that while Ukraine may not be a standalone supplier of all the required minerals, it could potentially collaborate with other countries like the United States and other nations to access the necessary resources, according to the BBC."

And the rest of your post implies that Trump does not know what he is doing. Let us take a pole, how many people here think that Trump does not know what he is doing. That, all of the problems that Sunhouse seems to think exist were not considered as he moved along with his promise to the American people, ……who voted for him to do these very things. Sun house follow me here..How can you fault what he is doing when the majority of us voted for him to do what he is doing.? We are really having a hard time following you here.
